LOVED him. A great professor with a semi difficult course topic material. There was not one class or lab where I didn't laugh but I worked hard for every single grade. He is a trickster so pay attention to directions, details and puns.

Comment:

Hiraizumi is great! He gets so into his little teaching 'performances' and has so much fun with his terrible little jokes. The course is very challenging, the exams super tricky and his explanations can be difficult sometimes, but he makes a big effort to be available for questions. Go to all of the review sessions! He appreciates extra effort!

Hiraizumi is the man but he is tricky. He is a fair grader and never leaves science center. Ever. He likes to answer your questions with more questions... or just takes a roundabout route of answering,but eventually you will get the point... sometimes. Big Bubba is gonna get you so watch out on your papers. He loves metallica. he's the man.

Basically, Hiraizumi is a trickster! When you think you're right, you're probably not. This class is do-able, i got a B, but worked SO hard! Read everything, took notes, and talked to him a lot. If he scares you at first, just be persistent, i think he tries to intimidate, but then becomes friendly over time and helpful if you ask the right questio

One of the best. Tough but always helpful. Challenges you to think and apply. Open book take home quiz so there?s no memorization. Your lowest exam counts least and best exam counts most for your grade. Gives you many chances to do well. I learned a lot. Didn?t an A, but hey, it?s genetics and it?s hard to get an A. I wish more profs were like him.

Tells you to come ask him for help if you need it, but then belittles you and makes you feel stupid for asking a question. Exams are not only hard but mean -- they go against every bit of test taking knowledge we've ever learned. In a list of 62 statements, circle all that are true. Only 1 was.

Overall his class was ok. I'm think that Hiraizumi is an arrogant cocky professor and his jokes are lame. I struggled through the class sadly when I was not into his stupid humor and his ridiculous exams. His exams are insane, they require no higher analysis, just weird recall.

This class sucks. Material is so boring. Never once slept in a class @ Gburg until biostats. Please, save yourself. DON'T take this class unless you HAVE to. The only thing that occasionly kept my eye lids open was Hiraizumi's humor.

Oh Hiraizumi... what shall I say about you... Ok test 1: Easy. Test 2: Very intersting material to learn, but HARD test. Test 3: Material blows, and the test is impossible. FINAL: I take it tmr, and I'm petrified. Hiraizumi is a great guy, VERY funy, but his tests are VERY hard. However, lab is great and all his quizzes are take-home!

Bio 211 was a very hard class, but Hiraizumi is great. I had him for class and lab. He has an amazing sense of humor, and he tries to make genetics interesting! His grading system is also very fair, giving you many opportunities to make up for bad grades.
