I had him freshmen year ('03) such an easy class. Got an A because I read, went to review, and took very descrptive notes. Tests are somewhat tricky but in the end he gives you the benefit of the doubt and doesn't try to fail you. Great professor. I recommend him.

Fantastic class, fantastic prof. Changed my life. Took the class on a whim 15 years ago and ended up working in Japan for a few years because of him. Anthro/ foreign culture classes worthwhile at Pitt.

Gotta be the most overrated professor I've had so far. Tests were SO HARD and the review sessions weren't too helpful. We never EVER discussed anything brought up in the book (and we're talking 300 page books per each test). I steer clear of foreign culture classes now. Nice guy though.....

he really was a good teacher. He was able to connect with the students by bringing up current topics and telling stories of his experiences (but not in that boring way). He knows this subject well and you can't help but learn in his class.

Dr. Brown has been nothing but patient and helpful with me this entire semester. He gives credit where it is deserved and is a fun teacher who is always making the class laugh. The books may not be fun to read, but how else do you plan on learning?
