Class covers some really interesting material, which is marred by Chapin's boring classes. He's a very nice guy and still says hello to me 2 yrs after taking the class, but he's a very hard grader and is almost too serious about what he does. Take him if you're really into music, otherwise, beware

Great class! Even early in the morning the class was interesting. You can tell that prof. is really into what he is teaching you. Grading is rather tough, but eventually you figure out what he is looking for.

EXCELLENT; THE BEST!!! He's great for people who want to learn. Of course stupid kids who are still in the high school spoon-feed-me mind-set wouldn't know how to appreciate his class. AWESOME on the viola. Best part of class is listening to him play.

he's a good guy..easy to talk to..but can be a pain if you're not really into music theory.... b/c he is. you need to study and know your stuff well. sometimes class gets kind of boring because he will go over one little melody forever; he's specific.

For Intro to Music History, if you do the reading every night and study for the tests you will do well. It is not really easy, but it is easy if you put in some level of work. Passionate about music, I take him very seriously and he's a nice guy at heart.

He is very sweet, but difficult if you aren't a musician. He can get very technical, but he does provide you with a musical score and much reading. He may seem intimidating, but he's not that bad. I like him, but sometimes his knowledge is too much!
