Avoid this man like the plague. He is without a doubt the worst professor I have had in my last six semesters at USC. Our class was based off of online articles he found and rarely even understood. There was no clear grading method and it was impossible to get any feedback on projects. This class was a waste of money and time. I learned nothing.

Well. This is Professor's Kenney's last semester at USC, so maybe this is pointless. But, wow. He really has no idea what he is doing half the time. The tests are just pulled from articles he copies and pastes, has no idea what the material really is. Changes structure of the class weekly it seems. Great photographer, but absolutely scatterbrained.

Genuinely one of the least intelligent people I've ever met. I honestly think I lost brain cells because of his class. He once acted surprised that you could google how to make a business plan. He wears berets. Words cannot describe how useless he is as a professor. Whoever gave him a phd should be discredited and forced to reevaluate their life.

Keith Kenney is a scatterbrain. I have him for a freelancing class and he has never even started a business nor can he give us any insightful information. He did not even finalize the syllabus until after the midpoint of the semester. He is unclear of what he wants from his students and changes his mind mid sentence.

Kenney doesn't have a wonderful rep here at USC. However, I don't think people give him enough credit. While he may be all over the place, he genuinely cares about the people in the class, will help you if you actually take the time to go to his office, and appreciates hard work. Sometimes he isn't clear with expectations, but you can still be fine

Look long story short, chances are if you're a VisCom student you will be REQUIRED to take Kenney. At the beginning of the semester he says he lets students come in for office hours, GO. That way there are no surprises on the critique, and you have time to redo it. The final consists of the discussion questions. Word-for-word. Good luck.

Honestly the WORST professor I have ever had. Ridiculously subjective. Took an intro level photography class with the guy and he treated it like we had been taking pictures professionally for years. Doesn't really grade on a rubric but grades based on how he "feels" about a picture. Not okay.

Spends his lectures picking apart students work. I think out of the entirety of the semester, he spent parts of 2 classes actually teaching. The rest of the time in classes he contradicted himself or talked in circles. As if his teaching wasn't bad enough, he's also rude and discouraging, not to mention unapproachable. DO NOT take Kenney.

DO NOT TAKE HIM. Worst professor I have had at USC. He is not clear, and has unrealistic expectations. The harshest grader I have ever had, and his grading scale does not make sense. Stay far away from Kenneys classes.

I liked Kenney a lot outside of class. However, his assignments were endlessly confusing. The only test is the final, and there's really no good way to study for it. The discussion questions don't have answers posted with them, and there is no review. He gives conflicting information, so even if you do take notes, it's a hassle to try and decipher.

he is so rude and demeaning. he will tear apart your work and make you feel completely incapable. he literally said "I'm a subjective grader." avoid this professor at all costs if you want to enjoy your major. he changes his mind about every assignment so you never know what's going on, and I don't think he knows either

Last minute reading assignments. Counted absent if you don't participate in class by reading said article. Pictures: Grade focuses a little too much on whether he finds it "interesting" or not. Disorganized, disrespectful, doesn't teach, lack of professional communication, changes assignment requirements. But, he gives extensions.

Rude. Disorganized. Not knowledgeable. He would assign a project, change his mind about it ten times, confuse the entire class and himself and then just give everyone Cs anyway. Nearly every time people asked questions in class he would treat them as if they were stupid. On the last day of class, everyone said his class made them hate photography.

Boring class. He is very boring and has a speech problem. He confuses himself which causes the class to be confused. His grading is based on if he likes the idea not on the technical aspects of the photo. I taught myself more than what I actually took from the class. Complete waste of a semester. I blame this class on my first wrinkle, first colonoscopy, and everything else terrible that happens in my life. Saying I wanted to slam my head on a brick wall would be an understatement, and would have left me with a less severe headache that this class gave me. Nice man, but if you have any concern for your grades and well-being STAY AWAY.

He is the worst professor I have had at USC, by far! Only taught us the material the first week of class. The multimedia story assignment is hell. He doesn't critique he makes you feel stupid. His grading doesn't follow grading rubrics. Unorganized and didn't know the answers to his own questions. Take weintraub or kornegay instead of this fool.

WORST TEACHER EVER... If you can even call him a teacher. Most unorganized person ever. Every assignment I had to redo. I didn't think I would pass but somehow I did. He is a hypocrite. He ignored my emails. I went to him for help and he basically told me I was stupid. Out of every teacher I've ever had he is by far the worst. Don't take him.
