First graduate class at GW, and I was really disappointed that this school could have such a bad professor. What I didn't like was the "surprises" we had on the 4 grades. We would study one thing in class, and the tests would be something different. When all 4 grades are curved and no one finishes the final, you know you're in trouble!

honesly this is not an interesting class ,tax never is ,right? Prof. white has this plain voice that we couldn't get used to at the beginning and the handout is really thick which he couldn't finish in class. but i have to say his material is really helpful. more practice then you will do great in the exam.

This was the most boring class I've ever taken. He is smart, and a nice guy, but the class is bad. He has a dry sense of humor, which I found to be the only redeeming quality of the entire course.

He was honestly the worst teacher I have ever had. He was so unclear. When I would go in for help he would not help at all. Never had as much stress and problems in a class than this one.

There were times during his class that I sincerely wished that the walls were freshly painted so that I could watch it dry. Most boring class you'll probably ever take. Not a bad dude, but you're not going to learn anything in class and will teach yourself everything (or not) before the exams.

Very ineffective teacher. Huge curve on exams because students do very poorly in his class. Assumes that students have an equal grasp of accounting as he does and teaches accordingly. Textbook is nearly worthless. He only covers about 1/3 of the handouts in class and leaves the remaining problems unanswered yet will cover them on exams.

He is a very knowledgeable person but does not convey his knowledge well to his students. He does not show the slightest interest in making sure the students know the material. From the beginning of class to the end of class he talks the whole time in a very monotone voice. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

He does not know how to teach but he is very generous on grades. He curves at the end of a semester .you will not fail in his class for sure. Though, most GW Accounting professors are unhelpful and careless about students.

It's difficult to sit through an entire class because of how dry the material and lectures are. He uses Excel extensively and it can be hard to keep up with what he's doing. His exams are hard so he ends up having to curve. It took FOREVER to get my final grade...the spring semester had started before he posted it.

Tough course. Prof Smith goes over main points in class but students must fill in the blanks on their own. Not very attentive to email...takes forever to return test/quiz grades.

Great Professor. Very smart. This is a hard class, but if you spend enough time studying you will actually learn something. Smith has been around GW for a long time and is a lot better than other accounting professors at gw (like tarpley...)

Very discouraging. He must have been something in his younger days b/c he's very knowledgeable and clever. He has lost the will and, clearly, despises the students. You are on your own here and he will delight in seeing you struggle.

He's one of the most sophisticated professors in the Accountancy Department. I don't know why there are so many whining babies here. Maybe they shouldn't have chosen accounting as their major to begin with.

This man is a perfect example of why tenure doesn't work. He's smart and can bring a wealth of knowledge to students, but he's too lazy to actually do it. Doesn't respond to emails, forgets to grade exams/quizzes, hard to make appointments with. It's a shame, I had high hopes for this class. He should reture and save us the trouble...

Not a good professor and unfortunately if you are an accounting major or graduate student at GW it is impossible to avoid him. Know how to do every problem in the practice exams and quizzes and you'll be fine.

I thought it would be fun to take accounting with a guy who sounds like Nicholas Cage. Turns out his monotone voice didn't help my grade. Neither did his impossible open book tests. It's one of those classes in which it doesn't matter how much you study-- you're either good at accounting or you're not.

I dont know, this is my second semester with him. Be honest, accounting is not something fun, so I can't really blame him for not getting a good grade. I got 85 on my final, the highest score I have ever got. He cruves a lot. You dont have to worry about failing, nothing like Singleton.
