He seems to old to be teaching anymore. He doesn't answer questions asked by students. He is even known for telling you to study the wrong material before a test. This is by far the hardest class I've taken and it was for completely unnecessary reasons.

He repeats himself a lot, if you take his class be prepared to do a lot of outside work on your own. find a classmate to work with and be on top of checking your grades. otherwise his tests are easy he gives you everything you need to study. nice guy

DO NOT miss his class, he has a tendancy to go on tangents that are off subject but they usually circle back around and are worth paying attention to in the end. His assignment are time consuming but simple, unless they're online which is usually faster. Ask him questions and read all the material. The class will go smooth if you don't fall behind.

Don't. Just dont. Not clear, always goes off on tangents, rambles a lot, makes little sense, if you ask questions he doesn't answer it straight forward. Scatter brained. If you are not a self learner and have hours to dedicate to studying, don't do take him. I got an A, but he didn't make me want to go on with accounting.

Anyone who didn't lke this class obviously isn't interested in accounting. I learned all I needed to prepare for accounting 2 and then some. Not too difficult, just need to study. I ended the class with well over 110% total grade. The E.C opportunities may be time consuming but teach you a lot and help your grade. Great class.

Weidkamp is an elderly teacher who is out to help and is well versed in his subject of teaching. He is sometimes repetitive which makes following his discussions very boring but he does try to help to the best of his abilities. His class is challenging so you have to try to get a good grade

He is a older guy so he tends to go off subject sometimes, but loves answering questions. Lot of homework is done online and pretty easy. He explains really well and if you are confused has no problem helping you. If you miss class you miss alot. Do the hw and pay attention and you will do fine.

Comment:

He tries really hard to convince you that accounting is an all important job. He talks about how the accounting program he wrote is so easy to use. Be prepared to read the book a lot, but if you do the online HW, the class is really easy. Overall, the class is quite dull, but in the end, you learn what you need to in the HW.

Professor W was awesome. He has a sincere desire to help you understand accounting. Will patiently answer respectful questions. He encourages questions in class, and recommends that his students work with a partner. I just wish he taught Bus II !!

Keith Weidkamp is awesome.. The HW is easy. All you have to do is do it online (complete the Work4Me problems).. Those problems are SO easy if you work with someone. I mean literally. He ISNT mean or anything, very helpful and friendly. Although he does take attendance every time. However I'm not sure if participation is counted against your grade

I had Prof Weidkamp for Fall 08' Accounting I. There were ups and downs with him. Downs- although a kind man, he teaches like a grandpa! He often gets sidetracked and rambles about how Accounting will take us far (we know that). Ups- he allowed me to submit stuff a little late due a misunderstanding in class. I got a good grade thx to my peers

Wow you're all crazy! Look, I created an acct.here just to clear it up for you guys; Mr. Weidkamp is far beyond an awesome teacher (coming from a C student who hates school). He's not hard and gives precise preparation for each test & is one of the most respectable people I've met..keep in mind my comment is from NOW, not 3yrs ago..Great teacher!!!

This guy goes off-topic more than 1/2 the class. Always talks about how much he's done for the acct'ing program at Sierra. Cool, but I'm here to learn accounting. Nice guy, but old and should quit teaching. If I didn't already take accounting in HS, I'd probably be lost. He talked more about how good it is to be an accountant than the class itself.

I'm an A student and came into this class optimistic despite the bad reviews. I ended up dropping this class because he simply can not teach the material effectively. He losses his place,adds incorrectly, and is hard to follow. I suggest Professor Lolland!

Great teacher. He can go off the subject but is very helpful if you do not understand the material. His tests are hard but they make you really think and learn accounting. He always helped me and was fair with homework and tests. I would take him again but he is not teaching at night anymore.

This man knows his class. Unfortunatly he can't teach it very well. Disorganized and unhelpful. Tangents take away from class time and makes you feel like an idiot for asking questions. I am going to avoid him for the rest of the accounting series.YOU SHOULD TOO!
