Attending is mandatory/non mandatory. She does have a study guide for her midterm and a non commutative final. I passed with an 81% and i would binge study the night before (pulling all nighters) which I dont recommend if not i wouldve passed the class with an A, i received a 19/20 (20%) on my final paper and i worked on it the day it was due.

Lecture outlines on blackboard I highly recommend printing them. This will give you more time to pay attention to what she's saying. Many times you get tested on not only the powerpoints but also the remarks she makes in class so write everything down. Sit in the front row and ask questions! I didn't have to read the book as long as you go to class

She has a big passion for history, but she is really hard to understand and it is a big class so you cant really understand her. Her slides do not contain a lot of information so you have to listen really hard to understand what she is saying. She posts an outline of the notes on Blackboard. There are 2 midterms, a final, and a book report.

Great professor and really knows her stuff, especially when it comes to modern China because she lived there. She does have a thick accent but if you pay attention you can get past it. She sometimes gets on tangents but sometimes they are quite informative. 3 Bluebook exams with 2 IDs and 1 essay (2 options). Only 3 class skips, lose points after.

There are 2 midterms and 1 final. She includes and essay question in each exam. There are study guides provided except for the final. She always has slides, but she adds a lot more information and it will be on the test. Not all the questions on test are talked about.

Took her for East Asia in Traditional times. Rarely read the book. The class was relatively interesting however Wang's lectures can be a little dry at times. However, she is nice and will help you pass. Attendance is mandatory and is apart of your grade so it's important that you don's skip. Otherwise homework is three tests and a short paper.

Second class taken w/Dr. Wang. Her lectures are straightforward although a bit dry. If you diligently take notes and attend class regularly, you should do well in her class. She makes up for the dryness in her lectures with a great sense of humor. One of the History Department's best professors.

Don't understand why people complain about this class. The lectures can become a bit boring, but this is not a hard class. Follow the study guide and there is no reason to fail. People complaining are the ones who put zero effort in. 3 exams, 1 paper, none of them too hard. Sweet lady and she is not as hard to understand as some people say.

Super sweet, but hard to understand. There are quite a few TA's in the class if you need help. Taking notes is a must. Don't miss class. Tests are fairly hard, study a lot and you'll do fine!

Dr. Wang is an amazing teacher & always seemed to be in a good mood. She is excellent at her lectures because she will explain the important things multiply times so you can understand it. Her class had about 4 exams and no cumulative final. Each exam comes with a study guide for the essay questions. Exams can be passed easily as long as you study.

Prof Wang is a really polite and helpful teacher! Her lectures use powerpoint and attending class doesnt seem to necessary except she passes around a sign-in sheet during the break (if in night class), so you have to show up. She assigned us 4 books to read and a primary textbook to read as well, which were easy reads - but lengthy. Her expectati

Any class you can take with her DO IT. I swear you must be the dumbest person on the PLANET if you pass up the chance to take a class with this awesome woman. If you show up to class and take good notes, you will get A's on all her test. All the material is from lecture powerpoints.

Took this class during Winter'10. Has a thick Chinese accent, but is also one of the nicest teachers ever. Lectures all based on Powerpoint. Does do pop quizzes once a wk, also had to do 3 essays (one w/ book references), easy tests in blue book. Would take another class w/ her again.
