Tough grader? DEFINITELY. On the exams, he marked me down for "poor form." I don't even know why he would dock me down for something so ridiculous. I was showing all my work and that's what most math professors want, right? He won't even help you on WebAssign homework but will on group work. What.. Glad I took Calculus 1 before I took it with him.

Took CALC 1 with him. He talks really fast and sometimes is kinda confusing. His tests are hard, definitely have to study hard to get an A. study tip: work through study guide and notes a bunch of times.

He is a pretty nice guy but his lectures are very confusing. I'm glad I took Calculus in high school or else I probably would have been on the verge of failing. He makes work much more confusing than it is.

I only got by in this class because I took it in high school. Don't take Whittington at all, even if you already took calc. His notes are not clear and handwriting is bad. 4 midterms and 1 final. Gives study guides for midterms. Group work after notes every class, but you can leave when your group is done. Uses chalkboard and wears black pants...

Exams are very EASY and straight forward as long as you do homework and in-class group work (He doesn't give any tricky problems). The professor actually tells you what will be on the test so just pay attention in class and study what he tells you to study.

He is extremely smart and helpful. He doesn't just teach you how to do the work. He also tries to explain the underlying concepts so that you can understand the concepts on a much deeper level. The class is really hard, so you'll have to study, but it's a great experience (if you're in the class to actually learn something, not just for the grade).

Lectures are really boring, grading is unfair, and unhelpful. Exams are straight forward, IF you know the material. But most student's in his class don't because Whittington can't teach and grades unfairly.

This professor is one of the worst teachers I have ever had. Do not take him. He rips through the lectures extremely fast without allotting any time for questions then dumps a group work on you. Tests are terrible. He grades them so hard there's almost no point of even studying. Treats students as inferiors and doesn't not like answering questions.

If you have this teacher, get out if possible!! He is a very tough grader, barely any partial credit, and doesn't care about your reasoning. Tests are kinda tough, if you are pretty good at math. Quiz's are come from hw, which is the only good part. DOESN'T go over ANY homework, ridiculous. He also rushes through the lecture, which doesn't help.

This class was very difficult. This teacher didn't make it any easier in the lectures. Loves to give hard tests. Quizzes come straight from homework which is only good part, but that's pretty much it. Did most of my learning through patrickjmt on youtube.

He is incredibly smart, but he rushes very quickly through important things and slows down parts that are easy. He doesn't appear to have the "teaching gene" in that he is poor at explaining concepts to the class. I learned mostly through Khan Academy online in order to pass this class.

He has a hard time answering questions from students and he throws people for a loop when he marks off test points for not putting answers he didn't ask for on the test. Crazy right? I'm not dissatisfied with my grade but he is way too harsh with grading for the poor quality he gives to the class.

Whittington was a terrible professor. He clearly favored girls in the class and when you have a question (because ou cannot understand his lectures) he is useless. I got more from the students than him. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASSES UNLESS YOU WANT TO LEARN EVERYTHING BY YOURSELF!

very picky on how he wants your answers to be...whoever grades the weekly quizzes is harsh, barely any partial credit given if any. he talks way too fast in class so he can get to the groupwork...no midterms, thus the final is worth almost 50% of your grade

I had him for both 53 and 55 and I did great in his classes, he had a very different grading style but I loved it because the quizzes were exactly like the hwk(which you didnt have to turn in) and is very helpful during office hours. He can be mean but thats only towards people who never show up to class and flake. Do your crap and youll be fine.

Homework is due every Friday, but it is not collected. Gives you all the right answers on Friday. Has weekly quizzes every Monday which are based off your homework.
