I took his class online for Geography 1100. CoD is typically a very good school, and even the classes I've taken that are difficult, or instructors that were tough at least still cared about the job they did. Mr. Yearman was clearly checked-out and vague in any answers to emails, if you got one, and his syllabus didn't outline what all was weighted

He never answers emails, his grading criteria is unclear. is very vague with his assignments. One of the worst teachers i have taken at cod. I dont suggest taking him. take someone elses class.

The absolute WORST teacher I have had at COD. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT take any of his classes. No structure or timeline to assignments. Sends emails randomly giving details for assignments due within just a few days. No feedback on anything, barely helps when you ask, truly not a good teacher. I feel as though I have learned nothing at all.

Gave assignments with no real structure, requirements or details. There were no rubrics or guidelines for anything. It often took at least 2 weeks to grade assignments, which he did harshly and he provided no feedback about why points were lost. Absolutely no teaching was done by him, he was more of a grader than an instructor.

Hard because he gives NO Literally gives no feedback or instructions. Ignores emails. If you force him to respond, you'll get one word or one sentence at best. The absolute worst online professor ever. Cares WAY more about your ability to make videos than your knowledge of the course content. Teaches nothing, you pay for a site and book.

This was one of the easiest classes I've ever taken, but also one of the most useless. I didn't even do the photo project and still got an A because of easy extra credit on tests. This guy is very socially awkward and can't even make eye contact. He's also an underachieving Lefty, and lets that lazy, toxic mindset define him.

He was vague about everything. Seemed like he never wasn't very prepared. No clear grading criteria, had no idea what he expected from us. He talked a lot but we were not graded on that. He was not very clear on what was expected and never gave feedback.

WORST TEACHER EVER, VERY UNCLEAR ABOUT LITERALLY EVERYTHING. Does to not respond to emails and if he does it is in 1-3 word responses. Also, when asking him a question instead of replying with an answer, he just makes things even more confusing. He also goes on vacation a lot and is very hard to reach. He is HORRIBLE doesn't care about his students

I emailed this teacher several times asking how to be more prepared for the timed quizzes and he replied saying he doesn't have any suggestions and just to read the chapters, he also spelled half of the words in his email wrong which made it very difficult to understand what he was trying to say. VERY UNHELPFUL.

Online. Kind of easy to get a good grade but hard at the same time because of no direction for assignments. No guidelines and he'd say "I have no idea how i'll grade this". Lost my final and gave me an F then I emailed him that I turned it in already and he found it and changed it to a B. Very vague and is not clear on what he wants as work.

Took the online class. Class was an easy A for sure. Just follow the directions on BB and you'll do fine. A lot of photos to run around and take but otherwise very easy class. He gave a lot of extra credit and also gave everyone in the class an extra 50 points just because. The few email interactions I had with him were so so. Again easy A!

Worst teacher I ever had. Doesn't explain anything in detail. I took his online class and twice he never responded to me about my final project. It's a blow off class and I honestly learned nothing. My final grade in the class was a 89.76 and he didn't even round it up to an A for me... Even after I did multipl extra credit assignments.

Not specific at all. He's very laid-back and easy going which is nice sometimes but other times it's very frustrating. He's all over the place with his assignments and projects. Doesn't really have a steady, organized schedule when it comes to posting to blackboard and giving updates.

There was not a clear cut grading criteria where you knew the values of your work. He is direct and there was minimal communication, where every other online course I have done had interaction between teacher and student at the very least. Will have to re-take this class, which is no big deal. I do enjoy the program he utilizes, Mastering Geography

Comment:

If you're looking to be challenged at the honors level or learn about geography look for another professor. Lectures are slow and removed from the subject matter. More than half of the classes are used discussing how to print a poster for a project. At least I got honors credit for watching my fingernails grow.
