Like everyone said, Kelly is one of the kindest professors you'll meet at Fordham. Genuinely interested in his students. He means well, but he is a very poor speaker--boring, and he rambles off on tangents. Journals due each class, but they aren't bad..just half page reflection on reading. Overall, I'd reccommend him. PARTICIPATE, he'll love you.

Stay very, very far away. Nice man and all, but there was NO reason to spend 40-50% of the entire course discussing theorists... it was like he wanted to punish us. HARD grader. This class could've been so much more.. extremely boring. I think it's time for him to retire.. no offense to him. You've been warned.

Crazy pants CAN NOT teach even if his life depended on it. Teaches TOO early in the am and w/his boring voice, he'll put you to sleep. The weekly journals arent bad,midterm and final are. There are 50 Q's w/like 5 sub q's and it takes a f*ing long time to do. There's an 8-12 pg paper to write as well, and I wanted to shove mine up his @$$.

Tell me how all the minorities in the class were the only ones that didn't get A's. He's a **** and don't tell him your political stance because you will be punished for that as well. I cheated throughout the final(with the book open during the test)so i know for a fact i got an A on that thing..what was my grade according to him? he gave me a C

Don't get nervous about a paper being due every class; all you need to do is take a topic from a chapter and write a personal commentary on it. Keeps the class interesting by bringing in relevant and recent newspaper articles. Midterm was kind of rough, but the final was flexible.

He is a very nice man, understanding about handing stuff in late, but he's unclear and expects a lot from the students. I don't think anyone in my class was prepared for the midterm, and if you don't like writing, don't take his class-short 1-2 + papers are due ever class. if you do like writing, you'll do okay. hard grader though.

Professor Kelly loves his students! He encourages class participation to the max. He is a HARD grader though and he gives A LOT of work. It's a little hard to follow him during class; he isn't too clear. He is the nicest professor at Fordham though, that's for certain! I would recommend him.

Overall, Sociological theory was an interesting class. Pr. Kelly tries to be funny at least but is rather monotone. "Are you from Brooklyn? No, why? Oh you talk kinda fast." Answers aren't always straightforward.

HORRIBLE- boring and if he knows anything about sociology, he doesn't show it. loves to make up words that don't exist, impossible to take notes or follow along with anything he says. the journal entries for homework are easy, but i'd avoid the class.
