Do yourself a favor, especially if you're a first-semester freshman. Drop the course, switch it out, do whatever you have to but don't stay in his class. I went all the way up to the dean asking if there was any way to change his grading, and ultimately paid the price for being stubborn. A good grade in his class, to him, IS a C. Ask him yourself.

I did receive a decent grade on midterm a (B+), but that was only because I already had a class on plato. This teacher is absolutely the worst I have EVER had. I am dreading my final grade; I had to take the final early and it was a nightmare. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR'S COURSE!

DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!! The highest grade in the class was a C. He is very dull and just rambles on sometimes. Laptops are a must to staying awake in this class. If you get him run!

Speaking from experience: If you are a freshman, DROP HIM FAST! I got a C, and put my all into getting a good grade. Midterm, Paper, and Test. Myself and 3 other friends who were taking him worked relentlessly on the paper, and all got Cs.

Generally speaking, he's definitely a philosopher, but he should not be in the field of teaching. For the majority of poor teachers, putting in more of your time with the text or notes are adequate, but there is very little hope here. Would highly suggest replacement with another professor if you are placed here as a freshmen.

Class is impossible to stay focused in, the work is blurred together and he strays off topics whenever he ATTEMPTS to explain something. I got a C and it was the highest in the class-run as fast as you can from it..i wish i did

i got stuck with this guy to take philosophy and it was awful! He did not make sense at all. He avoided answering questions and is a tough grader. He actually told us that a "C" was a great grade since everyone failed the midterm. He allowed us to write a paper, i handed mine in early to get his feedback, then rewrote it and still got a C! stay away

I do have to confess that Professor Auerbach has passed his stride and needs to move on from teaching. He is unclear, not a people person, and has no skills with college students at all. Most of my class, including myself, have scholarships riding on this grade and no one can break a C in this class! AVOID...RUN...RUN VERY VERY FAST...SWITCH OUT!!!

He is monotone and impossible to focus on. He rambles on for the entire hour.He gave the majority of the class D's on the midterm. He told me i had all the right answers and clearly read the book but could have used a little more detail on the last essay so he gave me a D! do yourself a favor and dont take this class, unless you want a lowered gpa.

Brilliant man. Seems to know everything there is to know about Philosophy, however, he grades incredibly hard and doesn't really help at all when you go to him for help. I studied for hours for the mid-term and ended up with a D-. Only two grades are given during the course of the semester, so if you mess up once your basically screwed.

His goal is to fail us. If you are looking for a good grade, then this is not the place for you. Labtops are extremely useful in making the time in the class pass by. No matter how hard you try, you will be lucky to achieve a level of mediocrity on any of his test. By the end of the semester you will notice that half the class has dropped, gl
