Kelly is great! The books she chooses are manageable and all have Sparknotes if you're too lazy to read. HW is graded easy as is the midterm. Minimal effort can return a solid B+ if you're good at French, solid B if not. Kelly herself is very nice, quiet, won't cause a fuss. Great class for shy people.

Kelly has been my favorite BU prof - I took LF 350+351. There is a lot of reading, but class discussions are interesting + informative and you really improve your french. Approachable, caring, and always willing to explain things. Tests are in-depth but she cares more that you know the underlying messages of the novels rather than petty details.

Professor Kelly is my favorite prof at BU. Her explanations of the text helped me analyze literature in my other classes (and write better in my English courses, even). I would highly recommend her for LF 350 and LF 351. Don't be afraid to speak up, either, she's not intimidating in the least.

Kelly really wants her students to learn, so everything you do in and out of class is valuable and really improves your French. She has no accent, which really helps, and speaks slowly and clearly. She is always friendly and willing to help. Fair grader (not easy, but fair). Plus I was pleasantly surprised with my final grade. Definitely take her!!

Prof. Kelly is an excellent professor, and great for LF 350! Goes through all the concepts for each piece of lit, but can be a little confusing at times. Speaks slow enough to understand everything, and very encouraging when you have to speak. Tests are really long and require detail, but she's a pretty easy grader. Office hours are helpful

Professor Kelly is an excellent teacher. She speaks well and really helps one learn to understand poetry. There are things I pick up on now that I never used to when reading poems. Her comments on homework and papers are helpful. I haven't completed this course yet, so I don't know what to say about grading. This is my favourite teacher.

Kelly is a genuinely nice and accommodating professor. She offers a lot of insight and makes the class interesting. Exams are straight-forward. Keep up to reading as best as possible, but discussions make it easier if you don't finish all the reading.

I had her in spring '05, and while I was usually bored to death in class, I was glad I took the course.Kelly is very nice, just boring, and the reading is sometimes interesting/dull.Daily, class has the same routine.I didn't even read all of the books I used in papers and did very well.She cares more about papers and the 2 tests, and grades fairly.
