I have her for an online science class. She is awful. It is my first online class. I am a good student and try my hardest. When I ask her questions, she is NOT clear with me. I feel like she finds pleasure in being hard on students. Aren't professors supposed to help you learn?

I had her for chm111 & 203 and I loved her! She is very detail oriented - read the syllabus!! A tough grader and she expects a lot from her students but she is a great chemist and will bend over backwards for you if you show interest and come to her office hours. A lot of neg comments from non-majors who didnt want to be there. She is wonderful!

The entire class is comprised of youtube videos where you watch them, take notes, then complete "In Class Problems" all on your own time. Notes are graded as well as ICPs. On top of all that there are quizzes due in plato before class and quizzes in class as well. ICPs are a joke, you are forced to work on them outside of class. Don't take.

Wonderful! Keeps lecture interesting, makes us laugh. Helps students with the in class problems as much as they need. She also gives 'exam wrappers'. Ifor you fill it out after an exam, you get 5 extra points on your test.

Dr. Butzler is a great professor, she is very knowledgeable about chemistry and is always available to help, for my class she even created more time during the semester to help. This class is not easy by any means but you will get an A if you can dedicate time to watching the Vodcasts and taking good notes! Her quizzes are your best study tool!

Some people think that school is just for genius. She is one of them. If you want to get into a Science Major and have good grades, think again because your GPA will suffer the consequences of her tests... Her finals are anything but easy... I am going to retake it next Spring ( with another teacher) She is simply not a good teacher.

Absolute WORST class/professor I have ever taken at PCT. Completely rude and not willing to help, says "figure it out" to most of the questions you ask her. As a health science student I needed to take this class and do well and she told me to switch my major. Class might as well be an online because it's ALL youtube videos and vodcasts. DON'T TAKE

She has a horrible teaching method- you spend class doing homework problems, then go home to watch her web lectures and do more homework problems. Most of her labs are "figure it out yourself" which is too much in an intro class. She does help in lecture but not in lab.

If you can get over the fact you have to watch her vodcasts to INITIALLY learn the material, you will love her! All of her quizzes are online, and can be taken as many times as you need. Take good notes, pay attention when she shows examples, and you are pretty much guaranteed an A.

She teaches a flipped classroom style where you have to teach yourself at home and then come to class and do problems. Although if you have questions she does not have time during class to answer them because she ends up teaching in class anyway. To ask questions you have to go to her office hours and everyone goes there so good luck with an answer

I like her, but she is not a good teacher yet. Tests feel like random questions thrown in from space. 50 minutes for a tests that should be at least an hour plus if you are in her MWF class. She is rude to students and not very clear on requirements at times. way to many quizzes that dont let you learn but instead bring down your grade!

She's really intelligent and capable of using different ways to get you to understand, but is unwilling to work with some, completely rude to others, and focuses mostly on students already doing well. Had her for Gen Chem too & was straightforward. Good Chemist, Poor Teacher

Organic is a very difficult class to pass considering you have to teach yourself from the book which is not very helpful. I earned a B on the first exam then it was downhill from there to a 46% on the final so I will retake it in the spring ~A

Not always clear, & not always willing to work with difficult student personalities, she is a very intelligent professor & has multiple ways of allowing you to understand the concept. I felt like most class assignments related exactly to tests and quizzes. Labs are easy and a great grade booster. Stay on her nice side and work hard & you'll be fine

WORST CLASS EVER!! She not only gossips about other students and their grades, she also tells you to switch majors if you aren't doing that well. She assumes you know everything, and will put lectures online for you to do outside of class...LIKE YOU HAVE TIME with all the other work/studying for her. Don't take her if you have other options!!!

I took this class online my senior year, WORST IDEA EVER! I did more work in this 100 level course than I did in my 400 level courses for my major! I do not recommend this class for anyone. Hated it.

Organic chem is always going to be a hard class, no matter who is teaching it. Unfortunately, Butzler doesn't really even bother to make an attempt at teaching. You have to teach yourself from the textbook. She belittles students, telling them to switch to easier majors or drop the class. I ended up doing fine, but it was an uphill struggle.
