Had him for undergrad years ago (writing in business management). Still, he sticks out because of how condescending he was to us students. I never forgot when he told us haveing a A+ average @ John Jay was like a C- @Harvard- not very encouraging. Textbook was more helpful that his lectures.

He is quite funny...you must read everything in the books he assigns because he gives a quiz every class and you must know specific details. However is very fair in grading. If you have a problem talk to him after class. He is very understanding

Professor always digress away from the topuc. At times you may think he is a perversed old man. I only read some of the 7 books we had a pulled of a passing grade. There's no eating in the class and he will embarass you if he sees you with food. Rather boring, in my opinion. I didn' pay attention much in the class. Quizzes get harder progressively.

He is a good professor... tells you what you need to know about the books and how they connect together. You cant be absent for his class though because you will miss a lot. The class is pretty easy if you keep up with the reading which isnt very hard. Most of all participate, the more you participate the more he likes you.

I do not understand why he teaches at John Jay. He spoke of John Jay's reputation outside of NY. The comment he made refered to "the farther away something is, the less it stinks". Everyday in class we had to listen to him degrade JJ.

Sometimes he digressed too far off the material during his lectures but that is the tradeoff for having him explain the books to a level of depth that one probably could not have grasped on their own. Paying attention in class is the key.
