Outstanding professor whom seems passionate about economics. he class IS based on 3 tests and 3 tests only, which is a positive and a negative in itself. The positive? No B.S. papers, worksheets, Literally tests what you learned in the class. The negative, it can be quite easy to fail if due care isn't given on all 3 tests. Extra credit quizzes!!!!

He tries to appeal to students with his examples. He goes over test reviews in class and gives you plenty of opportunities to ask questions. Pay attention, take notes, and study - you'll pass. Gives extra credit (for a point or two) after almost every class after the first exam. He's a bit dry but knows his stuff. Econ sucks but this prof didn't.

He provides us with a printable course-pack that has graphs pre-drawn and has practice test questions for each section we cover that are sometimes on the exams. He gives out open note, extra credit opportunities at the end of class sometimes. A 90%-100% is an A. Grading scale makes it so you pass the class. Great Professor.

There are only 3 tests to determine your grade. Lectures are based on how much beer he drinks and if you mess up one test you have very little chance of fixing your grade. Gives extra credit quizzes that are only worth one point and do not help your grade at all.

His lectures are OK, sometimes he can be a little all over the place and hard to follow. I recommend attending the class regularly unless you're a natural with econ. Take good notes and study the textbook. His exams are harder than you think they will be. Your grade is only made up of three exams, so don't f up.

He knows his stuff. His grading, however, is borderline ridiculous. He takes points off for seemingly no reason at all, and no explanation is given. Also, his homework is graded by GA's, who also take points with no reason offered, even if you were right... Also, Professor Moreland sure seems to love, well, Professor Moreland...

Prof. Moreland is a good professor. Sometimes he speaks a little fast and it's easy to drift off/day dream at times. Go to class and take notes! I didn't get the book, but I took good notes. The tests are tough, but if you study hard and do the extra credit, you'll be fine. Make sure you do good, because the only grades are 3 exams.

Kemper Moreland is one of the most straightforward teachers I've had. Come to class, pay attention, take notes, and you'll do well. Moreland tells you multiple questions that are on the exam and gives easy extra credit quizzes from time to time. In order to do well, you have to show up, but can be an easy A if you do. He's also readily available.

Very clear and precise class. It isn't an Easy A however, if you pay attention and take good notes you can pass his exams. Barely used the textbook. I have taken multiple courses with him and I would continue to.

I have had Kemper for multiple classes. I will continue to take him for as many classes as I can. He explains things really well and uses good examples to clarify things. He has a curved grading system that helps.

The exams are written pretty hard. You really have to understand the material in order to do exceedingly well. His office hours are great though, and he's willing to go the extra mile with you if YOU put forth the effort. YOU must go to class. Other than that, take him for other classes.

3 test are 90% of your grade. With 10% homework. His test curves are amazing but he's a bit tough on grading, especially with graph. His lectures get harder however, we will answer anything you have questions about. He has dry humor but I thought it was funny. Class isn't mandatory, but the notes are golden. But be sure you took Econ 310 or 415 1st

I do not know why he is rated so high. His notes are impossible to follow and you'll have to use the book. If you really think econ is that hard then do not take him but the material takes a little work yes but isn't the problem. He is a tough grader but the class wasn't that bad. I took saunoris for int macro and he was WAY better. Decent guy tho.

Econ is a hard subjects & Mooreland is one of the better Econ teachers at EMU. I thought he was really funny and his lectures weren't awful. DON'T BUY THE BOOk. He says to, but he provides you with a course pack & you never open the book. Three tests & curved grading scale. Only went to like 8 classes cause it was at 8 a.m, got B+. Can't complain.

His overall grade is a terrible misrepresentation of the teacher that he is. The class has tough information, and after already having to retain the difficult information, MORELAND TRICKS YOU ON TESTS SO ITS MAKES IT MUCH MORE DIFFICULT TO PASS! I didn't understand what he was talking about from the beginning to the end of class! DO NOT TAKE HIM

Very difficult class. You really have to master the material to do well on the exams. His lectures are reasonably well conducted and he's willing to help you outside of class. But I needed more consistent help and he was unable to direct me to other books or practice problems that I could work with.

The material after the first test is hard but he makes it so that you can succeed in the class. With his grading scale what would be a b+ in another class is an A- with him so although he does not curve on tests his grading scale makes up for it. He is a nice guy and willing to help but you will have to study a lot.

Excellent Professor and very clear. But it is not easy to get an A in this class, that's why 90% + is A. You should fully understand the lecture as well as the homework, then you can get an B+ or A-.
