He is an alright guy with a bit of humor. He has zero teaching skills, no lesson plan, and often struggles solving most problems himself. He is not necessarily a tough grader but if you dont do it 100% his way he will mark it wrong.

Krauss knows his stuff but he is simply not a good teacher. Nit picks on the smallest stuff and offers little extra credit. He prides himself in saying that half of his class ends up of dropping his class by the end of the semester.

I had this professor for both computer science and math several times. I personally hated the way he "taught" math; everything had to be pretty much self-taught, there was never a curve, and it was very difficult. For computer science, he curved tests, actually taught the material, and it was just overall a much more pleasant experience.

Anyone who actually cares about math or computer science knows that Krauss is the man. He teaches students to fully understand concepts rather than to simply memorize. In comp-sci, he doesn't let you use trial-and-error to write programs, you have to actually think and design a working solution before coding it. Also, his stories are hilarious.

Seem's nice at first, but if you get problems wrong a lot he starts to be a little bit rude. Have to do everything the way he teaches and not your way even if it works.

Had him for four MATH courses and found him to be fair and understanding.Just the right amount of work for homework and tests to learn. YOU must be motivated to learn and do the work. All the complainers on here probably want the work spoonfed to them.

Top notch professor. Do not take him if you are not passionate about the field. Regarding the above comments that he doesn't use a computer, take note that Comp Sci is NOT a programming field. Rather, its concepts are derived from math. Its similar to complaining that you didn't go on field trips across the world during a geography class...

I've had this teacher for 2 semesters and plan to take him again. His tests are incredibly difficult especially in comp-sci 2 but he is a fair teacher. I'd work on the text book a bit before the class starts for cisc115. If you want flashy computers and new technology this is not the teacher for you, if you want a good education then take this prof

Professor Krauss is a seasoned professor who has taught at all of the prestigious schools in the Lehigh Valley. The below complaints may be due to the fact that community college students have never been exposed to higher quality teaching such that Professor Krauss provides. He is a highly intelligent academic as well as a caring individual.

Unless you already know your way around c++ or you're willing to read the entire textbook and understand it front to back, stay away. Dr. Krauss knows his stuff, but not a good teacher. His lectures are rather obscure and acts as if all of his students have a previous background of the material.

Krauss is a great teacher. He goes at a good pace, he's willing to answer any questions, and he's just a funny guy. His quizzes are pretty short/easy. Tests are a bit more difficult, but if you've gotten to Calc III, you can probably handle them. The only legitimate complaint I've seen is that he does tend to go off on tangents sometimes.

Best teacher I've had. It's odd that he doesn't use computers in a comp sci class, but I think he does it well. The tests are the most difficult part, you WILL need to read the book for them. If you pay attention (which is hard sometimes) and you are actually interested in computer science you should do fine on the programs as well.

Great teacher! I've had him a few times and had good experiences with every class. I see some people complain that there is no use of computers in his classes, but the classes I've had have been theory, so computers aren't necessary even for computer science. He's always gone extra lengths to help me out in his classes.

Had him for C++!!!!This teacher is extremly hard and doesn't help!! He never uses a computer writes everything on the board. If you never program before stay away from his class..If you did poor in his first and second test his advice is to drop the class or sit there and try to learn. He is not very helpful to his students..

He does not teach programming on computers, he writes it on the board. It's very hard to learn this subject without putting the theory to practice. Over half my class withdrew and a quarter were failing. The only people who had a decent grades were students who already knew C++.
