Love this prof! You can tell he's interested in math and loves what he does. Tests are SO fair and no surprises! Generous marker (forgives simple math errors and marks only on what he's looking to test you on). Final was long and hard to finish, but still fair. Would definitely recommend!!!

Sulston is fantastic. Really knows his stuff, and he can convey the information very well. His tests are straightforward and I've found him to be a generous marker in all of the courses I've taken from him.

Comment:
Sulston is extremely organized and each lecture is exactly 50 minutes (it's a bit scary). His tests are very fair but he marks them with little generosity, so be very thorough in your answers. Explanations are clear and to the point, and he doesn't ever go off topic or beat around the bush. Recommended if you're serious about math.

Comment:
Sulston covers the material quickly and skips over a lot of the baby steps, which is as expected in a third year math course. So you'll need to know your stuff prior to class. Tests are hard and he is known for being not-so-generous when it comes to part marks. Overall, I liked him. Always available for extra help when you need it.

Goes through the material rather quickly. Knows the stuff really well and always knows the answer when asked a question in class. Tests are hard and he marks them hard and isn't generous.

Sulston gives great notes and prepared me well for the 152. However, he marks quite hard on tests and exams and gives minimal part marks, less than some of the other professors teaching the same course.

I don't know what these other students saw in him, but I found his tests super difficult. Plenty of proofs should be expected on each exam. Assignments aren't crazy, but don't fully prepare you for tests. Teaches straight out of the book. Not very approachable during office hours

He doesn't really stray too far from the text book in class.. so he's really not too too helpful with lecturing if you read your book. Seemed outrageously nervous at first, but you just come to realize its the way he is, and its cool, makes him unique. He does explain things well, but if you get lost in his class its tough to catch up. Moves quick.

Sulston rules! He knows what he's talking about, knows everything right off the top of his head, great on his feet when asking questions. Gives long but useful assignments. And who can complain about the bouncing? He's one of the best.
