Couldn't agree more with the previous comment, a very challenging professor. Not your typical wsu class, your tuition fee is certainly going on a college level class

He has a bad reputation, but I think he's hilarious. This is a real college class. Not your typical fluffy WSU class. He demands respect, but I think it's reasonable. His sense of humor is so dry that it comes off as rudeness to some people. Don't take him if you aren't willing to work. His class made me feel like I was finally using my tution.

Biggest tool at Wright-State. This guy has the personality of a lamp post. Looks the same, talks the same every damn class. He is an angry little Japanese man who will yell at you and not show a sense of compassion for you. Tests are hard and a 10 page text paper means 10 pages of all text, you can add a chart or table page but that does NOT count.

This man should not be teaching anywhere. Very unprofessional. He won't answer your questions, yells at students, speaks too softly and won't speak louder if asked. Do not be late or leave the room for any reason, he won't let you in or come back. Worst of all, throwing the "F" bomb at your students is completely uncalled for and rude. AVOID !!

Very structured teacher. Don't expect to be able to use a computer, arrive late (he'll kick you out), use a cell phone (he'll yell at you), or leave early. He's clear in instruction, but still hard. Three tests, 50 multiple choice questions, not comprehensive. Always gives study guide, but tests are still precise and tough.

Seriously guys, do not take this class. There are much easier regional studies classes out there. You have to come to class or you'll be lost and lose a good chunk from your grade...and don't be a min. late or you are not allowed in. Tests are difficult, but easy to get a C on. Good luck with the paper, and do it RIGHT the first time you write it!

Excellent teacher. Demands respect ( which means being on time and no cell phones going off). Classes can be a little dry. Heavily uses the textbook. Must devote time to studying otherwise you will have no chance.

By far the worst professor I have had. He is very disrespectful and rude. The material is almost impossible to learn. I think he knows his information but has no idea how to teach it. His "helper sheets" were useless for exams. I have no idea how I got a C, I thought for sure I would fail. Avoid him at all costs if you can.

I've had Oshiro twice now and I still maintain my previous opinion - he's nothing but a rude, condescending jerk. He curses at his students and ridicules them in class. Highly unprofessional. He knows his content but has a difficult time communicating it. Partly due to his "charming' personality. Avoid him if you can. Work hard if you can't.

Worst teacher I have ever had. NO respect for students-cussing directed directly at students, publically humiliates them if even a second late. Very hard class. School is normally easy for me and I struggled in this class.

I thought this class was really tough but not impossible. You need your book. Read the chapters before he go's through his PPT's for them.Deff have to put some time in. He is nice guy but has his "buttons" Don't push them!!! He hates the use of cell phones in his class and will call you out...also don't show up late he WILL make you leave.

I was confused as to whether I was in History or English class. The paper I wrote was ten pages long, for a gen-ed. This should be a history class.

One of the hardest classes I've taken in college yet. Went to every class, took notes, read the book and still did poorly on the exams. If you can, avoid taking him if it's not your major.

This professor is one of the worst teachers I have ever had. He is very rude and his class is very boring. I did receive a B in his class though. He also does not try to help students at all. I didn't learn anything from this class, and I showed up to every class.

Not for winers, grow up and take a real college course, Dr. Oshiro won't coddle you, you must earn his respect by hard work, and dilligence, he only respects students who try and make a real effort. You won't just breeze through his classes. Surprised he is not at Harvard or other private inst. As public students we are lucky to learn from Oshiro.

Dr. Oshiro is the best professor in the Geography department. He is stern and will not put up with incompetence or disruptions but if you follow his rules and respect him and the other students and show up most of the time you won't have a problem. You will learn the material or fail, he is very proffessional. A real asset to WSU, he is the best

He does an excellent job of getting the material across, and if your notes follow the outline he uses, then you should be able to do well on the exams just by reviewing the notes. The writing assignment can be a bit of a setback for people who haven't had a lot of writing experience, but it's not impossible. I'd take the class again in a heartbeat.
