He made this class much easier than the other chemistry I tried before, he's super laid-back, and as long as you listen and do the homework and "participate" in class with super easy things then its actually a breeze despite that I am not math inclined I totally recommend him

Loved Dr.K! Made learning Chemistry a lot easier than expected. He is very straight forward about his exams & grades on a curve. Always willing to help if you're willing to work. One of the best teachers I've ever had... I would take him again & would recommend him to everyone!!

I was dreading this class! However, I think that Dr. Kolonko is really good at teaching a difficult subject. His lecture notes (power point) are all available on his web site, and he teaches directly from the notes - be sure to print them out before class. If you do your homework (text book) and online quizzes you will do well in this class.

Comment:

Chem is a tough class. Although I thought Dr. Kolonko was an extremely nice guy, I don't think he's a very good instructor. He didn't stress the importance of what needed to be memorized for the future and his tests are inconsistent. Although he was not responsible for the online homework and it was not very user friendly and frustrating to use.

Terrible. He makes you erase the board as part of your grade. He calls it participation points. You don't get them for actually participating in class. You get them for erasing the board. The most ridiculous thing I've ever had to do for a college class.

Well, he's a great teacher if u know how to learn off lecture notes. He assigns homework from an online source where he puts a due date but never teaches what u are actually supposed to do so when the due date comes around u have no idea what to do. He teaches by reading off lecture notes and doesn't explain things well..bottom line not suggested!

With Kolonko he was very helpful, so much so I actually got an A+ & finished the class; the semester before I tried and ending up being forced to drop a chem class with Lehman because I was getting a D from inconsistent, confusing teaching strategies.

Chemistry is a challenging subject to learn. Dr. Kolonko may be the best chemistry teacher you will ever have and if you take his class as an intro class you will have a full command of all the basics in chem you will ever need, and your grade will not suffer. His tests are more than fair and extra points are always available.

This course was comprehensive and intense, but Professor Kolonko takes the time to answer questions and review what students feel they need help on. Professor Kolonko provides a great learning enviornment in which he is approachable. I recommend Professor Kolonko.

This was an accelerated 6 week Chemistry course during the summer. Dr. Kolonko was great at conveying difficult material in a tight timeframe. His tests were fair and always based on the material covered. His demeanor in the classroom is very calm and he is respectful of all students. I recommend him highly.

Prof. Kolonko is a really nice guy and does his best to keep the atmosphere a fun one. There is a lot of work for this class as required by the district, but as long as you show up to class and pay attention to instructions in lab you'll do fine. Fun teacher considering it being one of the more difficult teachers. Would really recommend taking him!

The class is not easy at all, but Dr Kolonko will give you the resources to make it manageable, but dont expect to pass without doing your part of the job, the power points are very clear and helpfull for the test...He makes the class entretaining and there's a lot of participation points to get! thanks for everything Dr. K

Seriously one of the nicest teachers ever ! Has all his power points available online so it makes note taking easier. Explains everything well, shows lots of examples. The homework is extremely important to keep up on. The lab was not too difficult. Highly recommend this teacher ! :) Even over a summer semester the class was not too difficult.

Dr. Kolonko is definitely a great person and professor! He became like a friend to our class who we could talk to about anything really. If I had put more time into the class I would have gotten a higher grade than a C :/ awesome teacher though! Thanks for everything Dr. Kolonko
