I took Professor Kier years ago when I was an undergrad. She is so enthusiastic about the subject it is almost impossible not to love it yourself. The readings selected were amazing and she is super adorable.

Very nice woman/Prof. Loves pocketed dresses. Class discussions have very little to do with the reading and more to do with our interpretations/opinions and authors background. The opinionated do well with her. Wish we had more to base our grade off of, but the work's pretty easy. Read the book and don't BS the paper and you'll do well.

This was the second time I took Kier, and she as usual was AWESOME. I love her a lot, she is such a caring and sweet person. The class was very interesting, and I became a fan of Moby ****. The tests were easy: 2 exams and a 10 page paper. If you see her teaching a class, take her, you will not regret it=)

I found Prof. Kier to be extremely easy and extremely boring. All she talks about is herself and then wonders why no one talks in class. Really uninteresting and doesn't let you discuss the books, too busy talking about herself. An easy A though. Two 10 page papers and we read about six books. Lots of reading but it's a senior seminar.

Professor Kier is such a wonderful professor. I wish most instructors were caring and enthusiastic about their art the way she is. I loved this class and I wish I could take her again. Too bad I dont have to.

Professor Kier was absoultely amazing...I really learned a lot in this class. There is a 10 page papaer, a midterm and a final but honestly its not bad at all...shes great...take her!!! I'm definitely taking her again!

I thought she Kier was a great professor. Yes, she spends most of her time talking about her life, but some of it do deal with what the stories are about. her exams are not hard, and the paper wasn't bad. I actually learned things from her. She is sweet, and I would LOVE to take her again. =)

Spends very little time on the stories, mostly focuses on her own life stories..tests are not hard as long as you pay attention in class...paper is a joke because u choose the topic and as long as u make it 10 pgs u should be fine..she tells you to write a lot on your answers to get more points..nice lady but didnt learn too much

You will not learn a thing about literature. She spends the whole time talking about herself and ranting about "society" and it seems only SHE knows whats right. Her tests consist of qoutes a sentence long, which you must somehow know where they are from, and write at least two pages on. A ten page paper is req., but it is clearly just busy work.

A professor who's not condescending and down to earth. With texts incorporates real life topics applicable to today. Two 10 page papers and a lot of reading. Expects paper to be written as if student is in college. Very helpful and real nice.

I loved her class. She assigns only the most important works. She is a true Melvillian. She is the reason i went on to major in English. The class discussions are wonderful.
