Easily my favorite professor. I could listen to him talk all day long. Besides being incredibly well-dressed and completely eloquent, he has a way of inspiring all of his students to greatness. Class was my favorite time of week and recitation was also totally enjoyable. This class inspired me to become a philosophy minor. He's amazing!

interesting to listen to, but tends to get very boring and reptitive. come to lecture if you WANT to learn (it is helpful though). tells you what exactly you need to study/write for papers. grading however depends on your TA

Intro to Ethics. FANTASTIC! Some of the reading is dull for an intro class with lots of non majors but he makes the reading interesting in lecture. Entertaining, helpful, genius, and really good looking. He doesn't do the grading however so while you learn a lot from him, your grade will depend on your TA.

Probably the best prof I've had here so far. He's incredibly articulate (I've never heard him say "um" or "like") and makes the material very interesting. He strikes me as an extremely intelligent guy. He uses all of his own interpretations and does not teach from a textbook of any kind. I highly reccomend taking a course with Setiya if you can.

Very clear and interesting guy. The only thing is, there was no reason to go to his class. The recitation teacher just reiterated everything he said, AND did all of the grading! Plus, all of his handouts were online! If you want an easy grade (especially to fufill a g requirement) then take him!
