Comment:

Prof. Vandervort is one of the sweetest professors I've ever had! It is very obvious that she cares a lot about her students. She is very accessible in and out of the classroom. Her class does require a lot of reading but readings are easy to understand. She is also hilarious and makes jokes all the time. I love her and i am taking her 103 class.

Professor Vandervort is amazing. She really cares for her students and will do whatever she can to help you pass. There were 4 essays and 2 in-class essays (Mid-term and Final). She assigns a good amount of reading that must be annotated. I hate reading but it is all very doable.

It was a fairly easy A, sure there was some readings but they were easy novels. When it came to writing essays she was very helpful and we did group peer reviews before turning in our final essays. Pretty easy class overall, got a passing grade.

Comment:

Kim's English 100 class was harder than my friends' who took the same course with different professors. That being said she does work hard to ensure that you understand the assignments and also allows late work. Extra credit is given in groups, so be sure to make some reliable friends in the class. LOTS of busy work that's very time consuming.

Good professor. She checks homework but doesn't make a scene if you don't do it. You have 6 essays to write that make up most of your grade. Gave me the same grade for a couple of my essays did the same to another girl in my class made me wonder if she stopped caring too after essay 3.

Very nice lady, is unorganized and changes the syllabus often and due dates. 6 essays overall, 2 in class. Gives extra credit when you answer her emails sometimes. You read a lot, but shes very lenient. The only thing that got to me was how unorganized she was and how she thought she told you something was due or changed but didn't.

Taught at FJC, and she really cares and wants to help her students succeed. There is a program she introduces called growth mindset, to help her students stay positive no matter how hard it is. She is also very understanding and is VERY lenient with late assignments and sometimes on writing. Failing this class is very unlikely, there are no regrets

Such a great teacher! Highly recommend Prof Vandervort. She's extremely helpful and easy to reach via email too. Very nice and easy to talk to about anything. Everyone is encouraged to speak up about any topic in the class. I love interactive classes like this one.

Definitely one of the best professors I've ever had. She's super sweet and is always willing to help you out. She's an entertaining lecturer and is a fair grader. Some group work [but it's easy] and four easy essays. I HIGHLY recommend taking her. She also cancels class most of the time!

She's really nice! I recommend her, her readings are really short and relevant so it make the texts easy reads. She really gets to know her students, and I understand grammar better and am a better writer because of her! You watch Wall-E as well! (: Take her!

She is an overall amazing professor! She is a very understandable person, and is there for you 100%. You can seriously ask her anything and she is open to listening and working with you, even through email. Don't miss important classes or deadlines, but definitely make sure to go to all three writing center visits. Super easy; just write and go.
