Not a fan of POSC, but class is pretty easy. He gives so many resources to succeed in his class. Tests aren't awful, use the study guides and you should pass pretty easily. Tries to be unbiased in class and will poke fun at both sides. Only complaint is that he tends to go on tangents during his lectures which can cause him to go over class time.

Class was super easy. He mostly keeps his opinions to himself but can't help poking fun at either side from time to time. Grade is based off 3 tests, all easy, some quizzes, answers on quizlet, and paper, which is the only real work you have to do but you have all semester. Lectures are entertaining. Uses iClicker in class as well for points/atten.

Need to take this GE but hate POSC? This is the class for you! He posts all his lectures online. All quizzes are taken online (all of the answers are on Quizlet). Most of the test comes from posted lectures. Study guides are a little rough, but tests are multiple choice with 2 essays (you pick the ones you wanna write too). Great professor too!

I took him over the summer, and with all of the reading, it was a lot to handle. However, Professor Spitzer gives his students SO many tools to succeed, it would be crazy not to take his class. He makes PolSci interesting & is very engaged with students. Read the book, and go through the quiz questions before tests and you'll be ok. One of my faves

Spitzer's love for political science is very obvious and it has heightened my appreciation for politics and the American government. He tries hard to avoid using politically charged words and always incorporates real-time politics into his lecture. His lectures are relatively interesting. He is very nice professsor and is occasionally funny too.

Boring. Uses clickers for participation points. You don't need the textbooks. I did bad on the online timed quizzes and got C's on the exams but still got a B in the class. He makes the townhall meeting project seem like a big deal but he grades pretty easy (I got an A).

This professor is so adorable and he is very passionate about this subject. He is very helpful when you ask him questions and you can tell he cares. His tests are hard, but I got Bs on them. I recommend using flashcards and reading the book to study. Good luck!

Easy yet boring class. Only homework were online quizzes (14 total) and the mandatory essay that is included in the course since it's a GE. Overall, he's an good professor. Only downside are the written portions on exam, but do not let that dissuade you. They are short answers so you will need some knowledge about the topics(YOU GET TO CHOOSE).

iClickers are used to take attendance and READ THE BOOK. I also recommend going to SI sessions (Tolu won't bite) There is hardly any homework but the essay questions on tests will make you work. Prof. Spitzer is really chill though. If you go to see him he will actually try to get to know your name and your personality, and therefore have your back

Not caring. Too tough. Please avoid or fail. I guess your choice. Sadly, I chose to stay and failed. If grammar not your thing, avoid like the Prague or fail. You have been warned.

Lectures are boring but I've heard he's better than most. Tests are tough if you don't at least skim the chapters. Review for his exams is in his quizzes on titanium as well as flashcards fellow students provide on quizlet. If you do well on the essay questions on his tests, you'll do ok. Town hall meeting is very important and can save your grade.

This class is a LOT of work. He is very unclear about everything. His exams are difficult. He provides you with study guides but they don' t help. Go to the reviews with his assistant they help out. I managed to pass the class with a B and I didn't do so well in the exams. Best thing is attend class and use the clicker bc those points help out.

Take another professor if you can. The large town hall meeting was worth a significant amount of points and the directions are unclear. His exams are difficult. He tries to be helpful but he ends up confusing you more than before.

Avoid taking this class at all costs. Treats a 100 level class like an upper level class. Totally unnecessary when this is a required course that most of the students do not even want to be in.

Good professor. Lectures entire class. 2 midterms (20% each)(40 MC, 2 Short answer), 1 Final (25% grade) (35 MC, 1 short answer, 1 essay). Town Hall Meeting group project (20 % grade) (must attend meeting at the end ... nothing to worry about). Participation is a must (5% grade using clicker). Online quizzes (10% grade). Total points possible: 100

Professor Spitzer is entertaining and funny. His lectures can be long at times, but they're vital to passing. The class culminates in a "Town Hall Meeting" which is a huge chunk of your grade, so pick your group members wisely. Essays are a component of your three exam, so make sure you know the content, or they will be very difficult.

Sptizer likes to incorporate readings into his tests more than the PowerPoints. He provides a study guide before each test which is very helpful. Class consisted of 3 papers (3 pages), 2 tests, and a 15 page paper. He makes himself available for help and is understanding.

I had Spitzer for UNIV 101 (freshman programs course) and while the course itself was pointless, the professor made it fun. No tests, very few lectures. You go outside, do group activities and projects etc.. IMO, best prof for the course. DO NOT BUY THE EXCELLING IN COLLEGE BOOK, YOU WILL NEVER USE IT

In order to get a good grade, you MUST read the book and the power points. Exams include multiple choice and essay questions. Attendance is necessary because he grades your participation through iclickers. There is one major group project, choose your group members wisely. He also gives extra credit opportunities towards the end of the semester.
