Horrible. Tons and tons of reading it is extremely hard keep up with other classes. Doesn't always collect homework and has us print TONS of boring LONG articles. They will mostly all be on the final CRAZY! Hard grader, shows she doesn't even care about your effort. Final multiple choice short answer and essay. Does not let you out one minute late

Class is doable if you keep up with the weekly assignments. Yes she is a bit demanding but I only had this class and was abel to keep up. The only thing I didn't like was that we did extra credit assignments that consisted of a lot of time and only got 1 pt. You do read A LOT and i really recomment starting on your research paper early!!!! trust me

I woldn't take her unless you are willing to give up a great deal of time. you read read read articles that are SO long. 2 to 3 per week. You bust your butt to get your work done on time and she wont even collect your assignments sometimes. Our study guide was 4 pges.How the hell can you keep up with that and a 10-15 page paper!? Articles are borin

Stay away. This lady is TOO DEMANDING. Her level of work is RIDICULOUS. This isn't grad school. I will never take her again. I tried dropping but it was too late. A few people dropped her class after she graded papers. If you have no life and ONLY take this class you MIGHT be able to keep up. Otherwise stay away.

I guess she's not aware of how broke students r & how expensive ink is.Weekly Question & comment assigmnt for every article(2-3 wkly)must b turned in @beginning of class.Ocassionally offers extra credit,nice of her but good w/the 15pg paper!She expects A LOT deducts pts for minor errors

She's a great teacher and a good person. Her class is very hard because she wants to make sure you complete assignments the correct way, helping you up your game for the college world. Recommended, but difficult.

I wonderful trait to have in a professor is passion. Dr. King certainly has loads of it! She teaches with heart and genuinely cares about her students. You will learn a lot in her class and be prepared to read!!

cancels class alot,does not answer question you ask, has students answer students questions,not clear at anything she wants,expects you to do everything she assigns,lectured like twice in 10 weeks,10-15 research paper that was horrible,didn't get a guideline till the 2nd week before it was due,and she explained what she want the weekend of due date

Dr. King is a demanding professor, however she does not make herself perfectly clear of her expectations of the class. Specifically with papers. She can be very scatter brained during lectures, yet if you follow along with the book, you'll be ok.

The professor is knowledgeable and fairly approachable, however, there is a lot of work very particular even when she does not follow the schedule herself. Challenging concepts are skipped during lectures (for black history)but still on the exam. Never grades anything in a timely fashion. Overall, lazy and demanding - not a good combination.

Dr. King is very knowledgeable, and she has done some good research in the field of African American psychology; unfortunately, she does not allow for good dialogue in her class, and she treated people differently, which I believe was based on how well you agreed with her, as well as (sorry to say) race. That said, I still recommend her class.

Worse professor I have met at Cal State LA by far! Always late, misses class a lot, comes to class giving you attitude just because she had a bad day... I could keep going on and on... if you can avoid her, i would advise you to not waste your time in her class...

Race and prejudice is such an amazing and interesting topic, but the professor was not. Prof. King was largely absent from class, and when present, did not provided important insight and context to the open forum structure of the her class. Our ideas/questions were not properly addressed, feeling like we were talking to the air. Avoid this class.

You can only talk to her during office hours, but her hours are limited. Class attendence is mandatory and if you are late she will make a specticle of it. She also did not give appropriate time to enter in data on spss for final paper. Class assignments are given back when she feels like it. if you ask for your grade she says "you should know it"
