Way to intense for an intro level class and will need a photographic memory! He has an opportunity to instill actual change in students by focusing on big issues, instead he's an egotistical teacher who sets students up to fail with impossible tests (and no study guides). A lazy teacher that expects you to do his job for him and teach yourself.

This professor requires several field trips to stores, forests, the waste department, etc. He requires mathematical formulas and creating graphs using data you collect. You get 1 minutequestion on tests and quiz's can only more forward one question at a time. There are usually 3 discussion requirements and 2 labs per week. Took over the summer

Very difficult as an online teacher. No study guides for exams or quizzes, which is what the majority of the grade is based on. Interesting subject matter, but very difficult class unless you have time to read and dissect the entire text book.

He is a great guy and teacher!! He makes things easy if you show up to class and show interest. He helped us with any questions and even helped us via email before test time. I recommend students to take him because he is the head of the science department and knows the tests and helps the students as much as we need!

I cant speak for the lower level classes, but in 160... he was moving through the material extremely fast, which lead to a few headaches for me. However, he is available and very helpful during office hours, and through e-mail. If you are taking 160... start studying as soon as you get your book if you want an A!

Took this class on line during summer semester. We read the entire book from front to back. You will work for your grade. There is no study guide for exams. Between the labs, reading and post you will have your work cut out for you. You will get out what you put into this class. I did learn quite a bit.

You must attend this class. The head of th bio dept and so, he knows so much about bio it's not even funny. He applies what you are learning to real life and makes it make SENSE. But you gotta study for the tests QUITE A BIT. His reviews are vague but still umbrella everything. Shouldn't be too hard if you are interested in the subject. he is FUNNY

I thought his class was very enjoyable. He was interesting, fun, and definitely good-looking, lol. His tests are hard and the labs are brutal, but I really enjoyed the class and his lecture style overall. One recommendation: attend class and it will be much easier...a lot going on, so I was unable to most of the time :(

Kip knows his stuff and seems moderately passionate about it. Lab and class were super rushed,be readt to cram. No study guides but if you pry a little you can get some insight to test material. Overall good teacher easy on the eyes!

Sure Kips fairly conceited, uses powerpoint too often & doesnt review for tests but he knows his material & He's a really nice guy. A total of 5 tests, 5 ONLINE quizes and 15 labs worth 20pts each(easy pts). Lots of pts make an A easily attainable provided you do well on the tests. You WILL need the book, and fill out lab questions PRIOR to lab.

I am not a science person. It takes alot to keep me interested. Dr. Thompson did his job. The tests are all online and very tought. Study the book as well as your notes and you should be fine. But you have to STUDY.
