Comment:
Honestly one of the nicest professors I have ever taken through Penn State. I missed some classes early in the semester for valid reasons, and Professor Trout took into consideration how hard I was working so he stayed late to catch me up to speed when I was able to join the rest of the class. He is a genuinely compassionate teacher.

He teaches the labs. Talks about life more than physics. Like, he talks about random crap for an hour and a half before letting you start the lab. If you ask him a question, he will answer it ... but then ramble about life for another 20 minutes. He takes a lot of pride in his life-lessons, so try not to interrupt them or point out his rambles.

He gives life lessons and prepares you for real life. Don't interrupt his rambling or he will get mad. Is willing to help and give you the answer. Mandatory attendance or you will not learn life lessons. You can show up to class half hour late if you want.

Lets religion cloud his judgement. Completely lost interest when he started brining religion into the classroom. Science is for the classroom, leave the religion at church.

Great teacher! He's probably one of the most down-to-earth on campus. Course-wise, the class is very easy if you show up and take notes. Easy A or A- if you put effort.

This is the third class I have had with him. He is extremely friendly, helpful and upfront with his expectations. He is religious but he does NOT preach. He's entertaining; pay attention and you'll realize how funny his lectures are. He also uses demonstrations for key concepts. I'm horrible with sciences but I did well WITHOUT the text.

Kip is such a nice man!! He is very thorough in his explanations, it's just the material is hard. He goes out of his way to reinforce material, and really tries to help you. I hate science and I enjoyed his class.

He taught concepts in the class, but tested on math problems. I wish he would've spent more time on problem solving b/c phys 1 already taught many of the concepts that he covered. I preferred Dr. Hasan for physics.

Overall good guy. I enjoyed having him as a teacher. He has his strong points and low points. I didn't like his first night of class saying that he isn't there to teach us, the book will teach us, he can just help understand the book. I would take him again though.

Great professor, Helps in anyway he can. Gets fed up with slackers, but neither class is that hard that you can't put the little amount of time required into it and pull off a good grade.

A mastermind when it comes to the subject, but has absolutely no idea how to teach it. His philosophies include: I'm not here to teach it. You're here to learn it. Well, of course, when I did the test it was pretty easy. I haven't taught this in years.
