Really passionate about what he teaches. Gives great lectures. Read everything he assigns or he will start giving pop quizzes if he believes you aren't reading. Only one paper but multiple poems

He is incredibly open and clearly passionate, as well as knowledgeable about what he is talking about. This makes the lectures 1,000 times more enjoyable and interesting. There are no tests in this class and it is a lecture hall where they use clickers, so attendance is mandatory but not hard to get by with "being there"

Probably one of the most knowledgable and passionate professors I've ever had. He can answer any question you have, and his genius can be intimidating. Had him for Sexing Shakespeare and never read any of the plays because he explained them all during class. No tests at all! Only simple papers that the TA's grade.

He has the two things that I find essential in a great professor; a passion for and a mastery of the content. He made things I thought would be boring come alive. If you think you deserve an A because you always get A's, don't take his class. If you really want to possess a clearer understanding of the content, then I highly recommend him.

I absolutely adore Dr. M. He's hilarious, sarcastic, and always dressed to the nines...he's definitely fair, class is a lot of work, but stay on top of readings, take good notes, and follow the guidelines for imitations and you'll get an A no problem! I highly, highly recommend him!

He's amazing. He's passionate, intelligent, extremely knowledgeable, involved in campus culture. You have to do your work, which now includes imitations of readings you had for homework. He's approachable for concerns and advice. I learned a lot, and I dreaded the course originally. He can be sarcastic, but he will care.

Melnikoff is one of the best teachers at UNCC. That being said, he's also one of the most difficult. Reading and coming prepared is absolutely essential, but if you do, you'll have one of the most rewarding experiences UNCC has to offer. As a person, he is a great guy--helpful and very intelligent without being arrogant of condescending.Take him

This was a difficult class, but he was a very interesting professor. I enjoyed the class even though I had to do a lot of work for it. Don't take this class if you don't like to read and don't think you can get a reasonable grade without reading.

This is probably my favorite professor of the ones I've had. Brit Lit was difficult for me. You have to pay attention and work hard at everything you do in this class to get a good grade. Unfortunately that's not what I did with the essays and a few of the readings. But I would recommend him, because he's the most interesting professor I've had.

Favorite prof at UNCC so far! Very knowledgeable & enthusiastic. Passionately involved in discussions, but open to other ideas. Expects a lot, but is fair & up front about expectations. Very helpful with essays - makes lots of comments. If you care about English (lit/writing) at all take one of his classes! Hard work, but very fulfilling.

Great professor, challenges students. Always plenty of laughs in class. Don't be intimidated if he calls on you, just come prepared and you'll be fine. He's always willing to help outside of class too. Grades tough on essays, but it's so much nicer than some of the other wishy-washy professors in the department.
