She is very passionate about biology and the course is very interesting. The course tasks get a bit repetitive and the quizzes are not too difficult if you review the lectures. The snack break during the final was unexpected and interesting. You are basically given a task or tasks and expected to do them by the end of each day of lab.

She is very kind and and loves to support the students. She and Dr. Joe make an adorable team and really care about getting their students excited about biology. Lectures are clear and she is very helpful in lab. Glad to be taking another class with them next quarter.

I thought that the class was fun. It was co-taught with Prof. Larsen when I took the class, and Prof. Pogliano helped me out even when it wasn't her turn to teach yet during OH. Test questions are all straight off lecture slides, no tricks to them, you just have to read everything clearly so you don't mis-read the choices.

Good class. Lectures were good and all on powerpoint. She puts up all her slides before class, so you don't have to copy anything. Very knowledgeable. Co-taught w/ Rachel Larsen - 2 midterms w/ lowest grade dropped (first one is easier than the second), microbewiki project (which is pretty time consuming), and a final- all multiple choice tests

Class is easy...professor is pretty good...but she is UNFAIR with her grading system. WATCH OUT!! She curves down final grades so she can have a good grade distribution to save her ass!

just memorize what she says and dont over analyze the material.this is not a hard class, however she makes the class very boring.She is a very nice lady though , but her lectures are not clear.Just dont think that the class is easy and you shoul'nt study .I didnt liked the material overall.She could have made the class much more fun and interesting

I hate pogliano. She makes her exams extremely tricky and she words the questions very badly. Her lectures are scattered and quite often unclear. She does not try to make an effort to meet with students one-on-one, and even if you make an appointment with her, she is not very helpful at all.

final was pretty tough, but other than that i thought she did a pretty good job. There were a few times she would randomly go way too fast or slow. She really loves what she's teaching though and it shows...whether it gets annoying or not...

reminded me of an elementary school teacher teaching bio, she could have been a little more helpful with the midterm, ie giving some guidence as to what could possibly be on the test

Kit's genuinely interested in the students' learning, & providing a thorough, tantalizing introduction to bacteriology and microbiology as a field. She might want to lay off the overheads; there are so many more engaging ways to present this stuff.
