Comment:

The way the class is set up, it is not difficult. 3 tests and a final, some short quizzes and two homeworks. Everything was curved and the lectures weren't too long. The best way to get a response from the professor is by talking to him in person. I took two of his accounting classes and got As. I would definitely recommend this class!

Comment:

The class can be very easy, but since he was so unorganized it was a bit frustrating. He never gave us are hw, extra ctl, or took attendance like he said which was 25% of your grade. He will NEVER respond to your emails. The only good thing is that his reviews are exactly like the exams. He doesn't give unnecessary info to study.

He's so frustrating. He tells a lot of stories. I wanted to kill myself after 3 hours. He's unclear and take way too long to go over material. He took 1 month to grade our first test. Although he makes up for his lack of attention to students later with test curves. But I didn't learn anything even though I got a good grade.

Prof. Shoemaker was great! 5 quizzes, 3 tests, and a final. Definitely knew how to teach this stuff to make the class understand. I wish he were teaching Finance.

I got an A in both Financial & Managerial Accounting with Mr. Shoemaker. Go to his lectures to better understand the in-class worksheets. They will help you on your quizzes, tests, and projects. The class is easy, but somewhat time consuming. He also offers a generous amount of extra credit.

Easy class, if you study EXACTLY what he tells you. A few online quizzes and in class tests. For the tests, he gives you a few minutes at the beginning of class to copy whatever info you want to use on a cheat sheet and provides you with the equations you need for the test. Assignments and projects are easy, just a tad time-consuming.

Finacial accounting class fantastic. 6 online quizes, 2 big projects, three tests, 1/4 your grade final out of a 1000 points. Gives you oppurtunity for 200 extra credit points. Challenging course that makes you learn but is learnable. NO one said financial accounting was ez,but TAKE HIM. No trix just learning

He is a pretty cool teacher. There is random attendance checks. You take four tests including the final and two group projects that you do online. You also do two small solo projects online too. I never really went to be honest and still got a B. You do need the book. Five quizzes online too. All pretty easy.

Shoemakers class is not as easy as everyone makes it out to be however he does offer a million extra credit opportunities so you can make up for bad grades. he's HORRIBLE at answering email and doesn't respond 1/2 the time. Awesome professor! I wish he taught more courses b/c I would take them all! He allows you to turn in projects to get the info checked before they're due. He doesn't take attendance every class, but takes it sparatically... it helps if you're there, though, because he goes over examples on step-by-step worksheets.

This guy is one of the best professors I have ever had. He makes every effort to ensure you understand the material and gives you every opportunity to get an A if you are willing to put forth the effort. There is a lot of work, but its necessary to understand accounting. As long as you try, there is no reason to receive anything other than an A.

Great Prof. Gives lots of extra credit, worksheets and studyguides which are very helpful, and he builds a curve into all the tests, and will even curve quizes if a large chunk of the class does poorly. Group projects aren't too tough. Take Shoemaker if you can.

Mr. Shoemaker is a really good professor. His notes and handouts are online which is very convenient, but the book is a BIG help. Although he is nice and understanding, class is definitely boring and goes on forever. I took financial accounting with a different professor, learned nothing, took Shoemaker for managerial and he is so much better!
