PLEASE DO NOT TAKE HAVENS!! The last day of classes was yesterday and we are JUST now getting grades from the first week of the semester. She will give you a B for making one thing bold on a paper, when she suggests it shouldn't be. She is constantly using class time to talk about her issues. Seriously the craziest and one of the worst professors.

Havens LITERALLY will give you bad grades on papers- unless you will come sit in her office while you write them! She is a control freak about her favorite topic (Punk) and unless each single sentence you write is full of quotes and citations, she will tear your paper apart saying you have no true info or ideas and are only capable of generalities

This teacher spends all her time talking about her family issues and her life issues and the tv shows she likes- instead of the class assignments. Which would be great, except her lack of explaining the papers and giving no rubric leads to confusion. and then she is a SUPER tough (and completely inconsistent/arbitrary) grader. She is hard to please

Dr. Havens can be super awkward. She is very slow at grading. With 3 weeks left in the semester she had one assignment graded (worth 25 points) it is a 1000 point class. The class was very simple if you completed the online homework on time and followed the formats but you never know how you are doing because she sucks at grading!!!

Havens is one hard lady. Half the time you think you understand her class and know what to do for once, only to go to class and realize you've done everything wrong. She is so vague it isn't even funny. Her assignments are so long and she literally gives so much unneeded work. Don't ask questions, because her answers will make zero sense.

Fine/Liberal Arts Majors STAY AWAY! The class is super easy, you barely have to pay attention but 80% of the class basically reinforces that fine/Liberal Arts degrees are useless. Unfortunately some of her critiques don't help at all.

Ms. Havens is a fickle creature. She is a nice person & has cool life experiences but the way she explains things isn't very helpful. I'm a visual learner (need to SEE examples) and all she really does is speak about the topics out loud. Little to no notes, in my opinion it's hard to take notes on what she says (goes off on tangents about her life)

I took this class on TuesdayThursday so they were over an hour long and all she did was read assignments already posted on blackboard. She can literally spend over an hour discussing one page of (extremely simple) directions. Told me to use the formatting in the textbook for a project and then took off points saying that "the textbook was wrong."

She's nice and her class wasn't too difficult. I got a B on one paper and an A on the other and As on both tests. Go to her office hours to get help for each paper and use a lot of quotes in them. Try to go to class as much as possible because she gets quotes and examples for the tests from class discussions.

DO NOT take this class unless you absolutely have to- and if that's the case, get a different professor. I'm a great writer, and I could never make over a B on a paper. There is a lot of work and expectation in this class. This is one of the most difficult college courses I've taken. Attendance is also mandatory.

She is very confusing when she asks questions and they are very vague. If you take her, make sure you go to class because she gives A LOT of quizzes, but most of them are pretty easy and a lot are group quizzes. You only write 3 papers, but it's virtually impossible to get an A on them. Her comments on the papers aren't very helpful either.

This is the worst teacher I have ever taken. She is a horrible teacher probably because she is a horrible person. She treats her students like their stupid and she snaps on people almost daily. On top of that, her expectations of students are unrealistically high. Horrible teacher, RUN AWAY!!!

This is one of the worst teachers i've had in my college career. She isn't clear, she over analyzes everything we read and all the papers you write. She is rude to students and treats them like they're stupid and then she tries to be funny and be your friend. Horrible teacher, STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!!

This is literally THE worst teacher and worst class I have ever had in my four years of college. Sure as long as you write a decent paper you'll make an A but it's the coming to class part that is unbearable! By far the worst class I have ever taken in my college career. Pointless class. All of the required readings and films take up a lot and you learn nothing from them which is frustrating due to the amount of time you waste for her class. Instruction is not very clear and she expects everyone to be as consumed with the material as she is. Nice lady

She is confusing and confused a lot when it comes to questions.. If you ask a question she just kinda dances around it and you never really get an answer.. Worst teacher, ever. I took her class because it said she always cancels class, but in the end that's all she did. No one will make an A. No paper is good enough, it always says "be more specific." You will hear way too much about her childhood and her rich parents as well as her facebook friends (she's obsessed). DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!
