Comment:

Not a serious professor whatsoever. Does not tolerate other perspectives: she takes them as personal attacks. She is awkward and rude to students and does not want to interact with them outside of class. She lets anime and guests teach the course for her. She frequently cancels class. If she's not a people person, why is she in academics?

Comment:

Dr. Dennehy is a great professor, which is the reason I don't understand why there are so many negative comments about her. Her class is clearly structured and she explains all upcoming assignments. There are weekly quizzes and frequent papers, but she is always willing to help. Most interesting class I have ever taken.

Builds her pedagogy on the my way or highway idea. She banned going to the restroom in her class and gave reading quizzes. Gave 5 comments back on a paper she gave a D grade; after I presented the paper to other faculty they didn't know why & told me to drop (I have a 4.0). I work over 40 and she was unableunwilling to meet to discuss her class

I took her for 300A.. and my goal as a history major is to avoid her classes as much as possible. I got a B in her course because i went to her office hours. She doesnt mind putting people down in front of the class and she made me want to quit school at one point! Don't let her get to you as a student, if you decide to take her, cuz she will.

Dr. Dennehy is a great professor. I wish there were other instructors that were as passionate about her. Be punctual, do the reading, and you will be fine. Though, her grading can be intense.

Very disorganized. Half the classes canceled as "student work days", has a hard time lecturing and making the lecture information understandable. Very hard grader on papers, which would be fine if she gave comprehensible information about the theories we are studying. Will not take a class from her again.

The material is interesting, but the class lacks structure. Many lectures have been canceled throughout the semester. Dr. Dennehy isn't very open to perspectives of the material other than her own, so stick to what she says, and you'll be fine. Texts are mandatory. Besides the usual exams and papers, you're graded heavily on participation.

To be fair, making this class interesting would require an extraordinary professor. Dennehy is not that professor, and she does grade way too hard. Best advice: don't try to be creative. Just do what she asks, talk in class, do the readings, and you will be fine. Its really an easy class.

She will treat you like high school students, and will humilate you in front of the class if you are more than two minutes late to class. I wish I did not take this class, and I guarantee you will experience the same regret!!! She has a temper tantrum too and it is not at all entertaining, its annoying.

Extremely hard grader. Only gave back one assignment and got a D, worked harder on the next one and never received it back. She failed me overall, I am not the strongest writer, but I did know what I was talking about. The worst part is not knowing why you are being graded so hardly because she doesn't give you the material back.

She's really into what she teaches. Go to her office Hrs if you want to get an A! That or make sure you talk in class and ask a lot of questions! You have to do the reading, which you should be doing anyway people. She is hard and confusing but the class content is very interesting. Always attend the optional class sessions.

she is a sweetheart. her lectures are kind of all over the place, she is not very organize so you have to keep up with everything. Attendance is mandatory because i had this class once a week. you need to read 2 chapters a week, its not so bad. very helpful of quizzes! final and tests are in class essays, but she gives you time to prepare for them

Great Professor! I had her for both 300A in which I got an A+ and 463B and got an A. You have to just show up, participate, and somewhat attempt the reading. What a concept! She goes over quiz answers before the quiz, we had a take home final where everyone scored above a C, midterm papers less than 5 pages. Mainly, show effort.

Makes you read two chapters a week and quizzes you on them the following week. The questions are in the study guide so as long as you read, you will do fine on the quizzes. Two essays, 1 for mid-term and 1 for final. Make sure you cite the book for the mid-term and the final is an essay based on the books you HAVE to read, a comic book and a novel.

Third class I've taken with her, really found her helpful. If you go to class skim through the readings you'll be fine. I reccommend going to the exam reviews and to prepare responses to her questions. If you have time submit your papers early for feedback ( really helped me) got an A in her class.

Very sweet woman but sooo unorganized. All over the place with information (literally) but super nice and willing to help you. It's not super hard but you do need to read and study for her tests. Get to know her as well because it will really help you out.
