Comment:
Exams were extremely difficult because every question was opinionated and exams are worth almost 70% of grade. The only way to get your grade up are the essays, which are extremely easy to write but he graded them extremely hard. Definitely a class that is not worth taking if you don't have to.

This class is all based on his opinions. He encourages people to speak up in class, but then argues with everyone that does. Don't have to go to every class, but go sometimes to know whats going on. Doesn't give any feedback on papers or exams. If you're liberal you'll like him but he definitely teaches/grades based on his beliefs and opinions only

Comment:
Kusz is not a bad person. People have a hard time being open minded and learning about kinesiology from a sociological perspective. 98% of the students who take the class are sophomores and haven't taken enough KIN classes to realize that some of the things talked about are actually relevant. Tests are kind of difficult and very reading based

He honestly has good ideas, but college kids are too immature to actually pay attention to and care about issues like race and gender. The only grades are the midterm, final, and three one-page reflection papers, so it's helpful to actually do the readings and go to class.

Kusz is a pretty decent professor. His lectures can be interesting and other times somewhat controversial. He encourages people to join in discussions, but won't call on you if you don't want to. His exams cover notes in class and the readings for homework, so keep up with the readings. It's more of a sociology class than an ideal KIN class.

I had him for Kin 278 & hated this class at first because it had nothing to do with kinesiology. I didn't go to class very often, but read the study guide readings before every exam or you won't pass. Kusz is one of the coolest professors I've had. Keep an open mind and you will enjoy this class. It's not as bad as people make it seem

Kusz is not a monster. He is just a guy, who sometimes makes good jokes, teaching a class of college students who are generally afraid to have their opinions argued. Class covers controversial topics- & a lot of the "opinionated stuff" is rooted in the material. That's like saying algebra is a math teacher's opinion. Bad at gradin stuff on time tho

Worst professor/teacher I have ever had in the history of my schooling. Complete tool. He created this class himself and knows he must have enough material to fill the class with, therefore everything he says is either a total stretch or a strong opinion. Disagree with his opinions and you will fail.

Dr. Kusz' class is unlike any class I have taken in college. His class is 100% opinionated and lectures are built off concepts you may or may not agree with. Most of the classes are open conversation dominated by his views. He has some very extreme views and is not open to shifting his views no matter how justifiable your argument is. Enjoy.

honestly people on this site are ruining this professors teaching ability. he is an amazing professor. he gives us the opportunity speak out in class and no one has the balls to do it. you cannot blame the professor because youre afraid to give your opinion. dont be afraid to take this class with him. i was based on this site. but its a good class.

Kusz seems like he could be a good guy outside of class but his presence in class is to bad for me to ever want to see him outside of it. His notes are super repetitive and it seems like he only has one point to make but tries to stretch it out into an entire class. Really annoying

Loves for students to speak out in front of the class. However, he does play devil's advocate so make sure you have enough evidence to support your opinion. If you keep an open mind during the class you will enjoy it.

I can see how out of class he is a nice guy but his lectures all turn into anti-Trump rants in the end. Out of the three total grades in the class he crammed them until the end. he encourages us to have an open mind but when you express a view point different than his in class he does his best to argue. Weird obsession with Tom Brady.

He is a professor who cares much about his lectures and does his best to describe them into daily life. He gives assignments based on what is important in his lectures.

Sucks so bad. do not take his class unless required. He says he is not racist but his point of views make you see that he stereotypes. Every opinion is wrong but his. Didn't learn anything that mattered to my life or major. His conclusions that he draws to make race and gender and social class relevant make absolutely upset. Worst class.

Kusz taught one of my favorite classes I have ever taken in college. He challenges you to think about opinions other than your own by playing the Devil's Advocate. He cares about all of his students and has a great sense of humor. I would absolutely take a course with him again!
