Comment:

If you are smart or if you are willing to work take Prof. Borowski. The material in the class comes fast ( I took his summer class so it came very fast!) but he is clear in lecture, nice while answering questions (even stupid ones) and makes sure that you know what he expects on the labs and on tests. Be diligent and don't fall behind!

Don't take his class if you dont already know some chem or if u learn slow. I aced his class easy, but I could tell several students were having a difficult time w him. He moves really quickly & can be confusing. He gives example problems all lecture rather than actually teaching which can be tedious. Chem108 is cake tho if ur quick at learning

Borowski can seem intimidating but he's a really nice guy. He's helpful when you don't understand a question and will go through a problem completely until you understand it. His tests are straightforward and his study guides are useful. Enjoyed taking his class.

He can be a little bit intimidating when he starts getting (or atleast seems like he's)annoyed, but even if annoyed he'll sit n work the problems out with you and puts alot into to trying to make sure u get the material. He's overall he makes class a pleasant experience, he's very knowledgeable, and can be pretty funny. I would take him again 4sure

He's really funny, and he does his best to help you, he makes everyday a day to look forward to by poking a little fun at everyone, including me! Overall, he is a great teacher but he's a pretty hard grader! Sig figs DEFINITELY matter on the test, and pay attention in class! You'll really need to to ace his class. He's SUPER funny!

I was worried about him because of reviews here. For first time on here the page failed to reflect the true qualities of this instructor. He's very helpful. He's not mrPerky. He's a low key type but he cares to help u learn. He gets annoyed sometimes@questions but if u heard the dumb Qs ppl ask him u'd understand why he can get annoyed. I like him.

Well organized and very clear class. As long as you study by doing the practice tests and reviewing your notes and webct quizzes you should be fine. I'm not a chemistry person normally but everything was easy to understand and the in class quizzes keep you on track in terms of reviewing. Easy A as long as you study and attend every class and lab.

I will say this was by far the worst experience I have had with a teacher. It doesn't matter how hard you work he is not the least bit helpful. He will make you feel stupid for asking questions and discuss poor grades loudly. So don't be fooled by the "I worked hard unlike others" comment. Hard work did not matter! Find another instructor!

Not the worst prof ever but you can do better @ DVC. He acted like a high school teacher, which he was, made you feel stupid for asking questions, and in general I left lecture more confused then before it started. Summer school moved VERY fast, needed a tutor and couldn't work.

This teacher is useless! He may be funny at times, but overall he makes his students feel stupid. There were many student afraid to ask questions for fear of what he might say. If you have the chance to find a more help ful Chem 108 teacher I would highly suggest you do so. Other wise good luck, you will need it!

I thoroughly enjoyed Mr. Borowski. He is hilarious and tries to add humor to the class (as much humor that can be added to chemistry at least haha) He is easy to listen to and I did not mind his lectures at all. He is clear and doesn't mind reexplaining anything as many times as you need it explained. I recommend him! (I work hard, unlike some.)

This guy is completely useless. He treats students like morons, makes fun of them and discusses poor grades LOUDLY (can hear accross room) and is VERY disrespectful. DONT TAKE HIM UNLESS U PLAN ON SPENDING MOST OF UR TIME WITH A TUTOR. Gets angry if u ask him for help, and on top of that, its almost impossible to stay awake during his lectures.

Teacher is hilarious. He is really helpful and fair. If you study all of the past quizzes and look at his worksheets you will do well on his exams. If you show an interest for chemistry he will put an interest in you. If you don't give the class your all he will not go out of his way either.

I totally love him!! he was super funny and made the class a joy!! He likes when you ask for help. Go to office hours, and he will help you out. But you must study his test are very hard.I'm for sure taking another chem class with him!

Fair and down to earth. Very amusing style. Makes potentially boring subject light and fun. Helpful, especially if he sees you put in the effort on your end. If you use your text, (it helps to do the practice problems he suggests), pay attention in class and lab, and review for tests then you'll be fine.

Borowski is very helpful in office hours. He sat at his desk the entire lab period when i had him. He set up experiment it front of us so we didn't have to guess what to do. Homework must be done but then entire semester is planned out and handed to you the first day there is no guess work, he is very organized. I strongly recommend.
