Mr. Chilton is by far the best teacher I have ever taken! He really cares and makes sure we are engaged. He makes you see things differently than you usually would and he will help you out during office hours! Great person.

Chilton is a fairly easy grader. There weren't many grades, so it is important to do well on the essays. You can get by just by reading the summaries of the readings. His lectures were kinda long and boring, but he tries to incorporate pop culture so that we can understand. He doesn't really take attendance, but do show up.

He's an amazing teacher!! You have alot of essays(6) but he grades easy, so don't worry. Make sure you read the assigned stories before class so your not lost when he's talking about them during lecture. As long as you engage in class and apply yourself you will do well. I made an A in his class and I'm not even the best writer.

Mostly lecture over the books we read and gives great feedback. Only have to write a couple of essays but grades easy and respects what you wrote especially if it's your own opinion. I've taken his class multiple times and he does talk a lot in class but it's an easy A if you just do the work.

Lawrence Chilton was a real inspiration. He doesn't just TEACH English. He teaches you to decipher and pull apart every story, poem, novel, everything that you read and understand allusions, references, emotions, feelings, the whole sort. very philosophical in his teaching too. A true diamond in the rough. a 10/10 professor at a 1/10 college.

Here's the deal with Chilton, his a pretty good and knowledgeable guy, but his lectures are very boring and he takes the whole time and he uses a lot of big words which don't help, there are 4 essays + final, his big on MLA. i totally zone out in his classes just write your essays, come to class, drop your phones, smile and your're good to go.

Gives you four writing assignments and a final that's It. Easy class gives lectures that are somewhat confusing , he gives good feedback. Do not be on your phones in class , he hates that . Other than that show up to class write your papers and you should get at least a B+.

He assigns 4 essays & the final, that's IT. I got A's on all my essays. he's really hard to understand but he is funny and if you give him a big smile every day he'll love you. Lectures are long and confusing but I bring my computer and work on my essays while he talks. He loves to talk and give feedback so go to his office. Best English proffesor

Uses large words during lectures. Very lecture heavy. Always takes up the whole class period but it is not too bad. Very friendly if you're on his good side. Wrote 4 essays plus the final and were all A's. He is open to anything so he is an easy grader. Show up, listen, turn in essays on time and you'll definitely get an A.

This is the best English professor ever! His lectures can be boring because of the huge words he uses. The times you can understand what he's saying though are deep. He is more about the students understanding the importance of reading than he is about writing papers. Go see him in his office and y'all will be best friends.

Let me tell you something about Chilton. The main complaint with him is that his lectures are boring and hard to sit through which is ONLY true if you aren't interested in English as much as he is. IF you are however, read into what he says. You'll find that the more you listen and use your own brain to reword him, it'll make sense. Love this guy.

Very easy class! You literally write 6 papers throughout the semester and grades very easily I got an A on every paper and I am not the best writer. He does talk about nothing in class and is boring but I was able to look essays up online and get info off there. He uses really big words. And I am pretty sure he does not take attendance.

Make an effort to connect with him before and after class and during his office hours. He is kind and personable as long as you try to show interest. I often asked advice on what to write about and he was very helpful. If you write about something he is interested in, you are almost guaranteed an A. Pay attention to his interests and point of view.

His class was very easy and very helpful! Get on his good side and you will make an easy A! He opens up your mind to different perspectives. Although his class can be pretty boring at times, you sit there and listen to his opinions and turn in papers every once in a while! He is very sweet and means well. Just go to class and talk to him!!

So boring, I took his class in the fall semester and he talked about meaningless stuff the whole time! When I asked for help on a paper he really didn't help explain much. Very easy grader though don't expect to learn anything at all, you'll fall asleep every class.

Chilton is a great professor as long as you can sit through his classes, he is easy going doesn't really care about phones and such and he tends to ramble A LOT. He grades EXTREMELY easy though and it makes your time in the class worth while.
