I've taken multiple classes with her and had difficulties every time. She doesn't give much lecture, relying on readings to teach. When she grades papers, she is vague and doesn't give feedback on how to improve. She turned me off to studying Roman art entirely, and I wish I had steered clear of her degrading teaching style from the start.

We were responsible for memorizing 80+ works of art for each exam (name, artist, date, location, defining features, relevant vocab, etc). The work didn't end with memorization, however; we also were required to ID the time period and location of works we'd never seen before, as well as comparecontrast. Way too much work for a gen-ed.

Fairly easy class if you are good at memorizing. Much easier class than ART HIST 110 since the number of required monuments is much lower. There is one quiz, two exams, and two papers. The papers are easy if you know how to analyse art, other wise they can be tough. Discussions are helpful as long as you get a TA who is easy since they grade exams

She knows exactly what she is talking about. Her lectures are great and interesting on many aspects. She does require a lot from you. You can't pull all nighters for her exams, do review a few days earlier. As with the entire Art History department, TALK TO THEM if you have issues. They love to help!

Professor La Follette is an excellent teacher. She is interested in her students and always willing to help choose a paper topic or suggest resources. She also emails you back almost immediately when you send her a question. Lots of reading and lengthy lectures, but she keeps it interesting.

The people who say she forgets this is a gen ed course are pretty much right! Art History isn't my life, nor do I plan it to be, but she teaches the class like all her students should have this class as a number one priority. Memorization for tests is crazy if you have a life other than studying all day.

I loved coming to class, but the course is very difficult especially for non art majors. Tons of memorization for tests and be prepared to write notes the whole time. But you get lots of extra points for PRS if you come every day and there is an extra credit quiz.

I regret ever setting foot into this woman's class. I loved art prior to this experience, but she is a completely rude and nasty professor, it made me hate the class that I was looking forward to! She is by far the WORST professor I have ever had, not because of her lectures but because of her horrid personality. Avoid her!

The content in the class is interesting, and she explains things well.. but like all art and poetry classes, her the teacher's interpretation is right and you're wrong. Lots of memorizing. Very stressful class, don't take it unless you reallyreally want to.

Genuinly nice lady. Very good professor, gives good lectures too. Grading is fair, (3 exams and a paper) i personally found art history pretty fascinating you may or may not but i recommend it the gened satisfies 2 reqs. But becarefull if you don't like memorizing images then don't take it. All and all though good course. Ta's are hot.

took this class a couple of years ago. Class was demanding, but I learnt a lot. Laetitia is very knowlegable and helpful if you work hard. Her lectures were very interesting. Many people who complained about her don't sound like good students themselves.

This class is alot of work, but its really anjoyable and interesting. She gears lecture so you can do well on the exam which is really helpful. She is really nice and is very intelligent. I'm in the Honors section too, which is alot of extra work, but it's the best GenEd on campus. Learned alot, and she made me very interested in Art History.

She team taught this class with some other professors. She treated us like we were little kids who wouldn't understand anything. Does pick favorites. Easy but unenjoyable.

She was a wonderful professor. Her lectures were interesting and she really knew her stuff. Her writing assignments were time consuming but interesting. The OWLS were the easiest thing ever and the PRS was a nice touch. Her tests were a little heavy on the memorization but the essays on the test were very fair. Overall best gen-ed i have taken here.

WAAAAAAHHHH!!!! Hey children, if you don't want to do any work or actual thinking then go back home to mommie and daddy. If you want a ****in professor who knows her material backwards and forwards then take Professor La Follette's class. I graduated from the Art History dept. and you had better believe that Prof. La Follette is outstanding.

Okay. This class isn't easy, that's for sure. This teacher isn't incredible, that's for sure. But it's definitely a cool class if you try to make the most of it. But if you just want an easy gened, don't touch this class with a thirty-foot pole. Either way, you'll learn a ton.
