If you want to have a social life, do not take her class. I took her Vikings course and She gives over 50 - 100 page readings that you must complete every two days. There are quizzes on the readings. You gotta remember over 50 different passages, their titles, their authors and what the passages said. Its like she thinks we only have her class.

Took course because it covered 3 gen eds. If your an english major, she is a great edition to the dept. If your taking for gen ends and credits, it will be hard. Readings are usually difficult and essays require great thinking. But she makes the class fun and the writing process easier. 3 essays and a final. Be prepared to work but also learn a lot

I had Preston-Matto for the Ireland faculty aboard trip along with Geddes. If you are not an english major, the work load is rigorous and I was not informed beforehand. I had trouble participating in class because I just really did not understand the books we were reading. She's condescending, but Ireland was amazing so don't let that hold you back

BEAUTIFUL, AMAZING PERSON. I have yet to meet someone in the English department who doesn't absolutely love her. All English majors agree that they would marry her. Her classes are fascinating, discussions are fun, and she's been very kind to me when I was dealing with medical issues. Helped me score an internship!

She is fantastic! She takes readings that could be interpreted as confusing or difficult (especially by non-majors) and makes them easy to follow. She seems so passionate about what she's teaching and truly wants people to succeed. She's brilliant. I'd definitely take more classes with her.

She is an amazing teacher. I had her for Interpretive Theories and Methods. It was her first time teaching this course with a vampire genre and you would have never have guessed it was her first time. She is organized, fun and very helpful. If you ever get the chance, take her. It's worth it.

Preston-Matto is a very coherent professor. I learned a lot from her class, although she intimidated me a little. She expects the best from her students, and seems willing to help. I don't know if anyone else who's had her can relate to this, but I used to count how many times she used the word "essentially" each class. It's clearly her fav word!!

very nice teacher. she knows what shes talking about and her assignments aren't too bad. the only bad thing about her is that if a work isn't done on the due date she will not accept afterwards. all work must be done on time. shes fun to listen to and shes not afraid to speak her mind. you'll see once ur in her class
