Dr. Chew is not an easy A and the workload is intense. He makes you figure things out through experiments and questioning that can be frustrating in the beg. If you want an easy A , if you don't want to be compared to your peers, or if you don't want to find things out through experimentation, wrong class. Find a type A professor. Great professor!

A lot of people don't like this guy while they have him, but later they appreciate the class. I do now. The research project my group put together was formally headed by a leading professor in mmae, and it's a real nice star on my resume. You will hate this class at first, but if you put in the work, chew's approach will pay off.

Not hard work, but A LOT of work. Explains first day of class that he's not teaching, he is there to give you the tools to figure it out yourself. TA's do EVERYTHING including labs and grading. 12 page lab reports and 2 quizzes for each lab and there are 8 labs, dif. groups every week. Dr. Chew is kind of crazy but in a genius way

Design of Aero Exp, so I guess it should be tedious. But even so, he pretty much made a hands off approach to "teaching" - Although I never learnt anything more than how to BS stuff. He said he prepares you for the real world, but everything about the class was trivial, so I highly doubt it. Also, take this with Senior Design II and you'll be set.

This class really is very interesting and extremely helpful given the experiments you get to do but the class was just so incredibly unorganized. Lab reports are due every week but they aren't that bad so long as you don't wait until the last minute to do them and actually put effort into them. Learned a lot but avoid this prof. if you can.

measurements 2. It's not that bad, the labs are tedious and the reports are long and boring but nothing terrible. He doesnt give instruction though, gives you a lab that says "Fin the difference in temperature using thermisters" and wants you to figure everything out on your own. Also, has REALLY tricky ways of making sure you attend lecture

taking measurement 2 with this professor was the stupid thing i have ever done in my life. Measurement 2 is a 2 credit class, but He treated them like senior design class, a lot of things were required to do. every time u guys ask him , he will answer" figure out yourself". He also requires log book for this class two, and 9 hrs/week for lab

Any half decent effort will get you a B in this class. Tests are only 20% of grade, lab is the rest. Chew is never there, but the TA's are excellent.

He's very untraditional. You'll forget 90% of the facts you learn in school, and you can learn them with just a book anyway, so he believes in teaching you skills, habits, and how to truly think. I like his "hands off" approach; it's conducive to creativity and deep learning. He doesn't always attend class; some say he's lazy. He's misunderstood.

Dr. Chew is easily the best / most fun professor I've had at UCF. Quirky dosn't begin to cover his behavior, my group came up with the term "Chewvian" to describe his style. Very practical and challenging instruction, he makes you question things you thought you knew, and analyze ideas and designs in a meaningful manner.

Worthwhile class that will prepare you for FE. Tests are difficult (#2 test & Final hardest). Dr. Chew has excellent command of his class & uses time well. Study groups are a must! Good grade can be had but time will have to be invested. No 100's will be recorded; however, instructor is fair A / B results upon COMPLETE familiarization of subject.

Dr. Chew has the coolest hair! It will keep you entertained for hours! Also the class is easy and fun and you get to do a really interesting project where you get to build a "toy" aeroplane. The exam is exactly like the homework (which is graded on a "did u do it?" basis). He's a really interesting guy, stop by his lab if you're curious.

Keep in mind that he may ask something completely outlandish of you. He may ask you to do things that put you in a position of compromise. Not a good guy at all.

Senior design with Chew is one of the easiest classes Ive taken in awhile. Just put in the time and dont wait till last minute to finish your design. Hes very laid back, and as long as you do what he asks of you, then you'll get an A.
