Comment:

Larry is an interesting professor. He's the perfect/annoying mix of engaging and boring. He does talk a lot, and often goes on unnecessary tangents (some people enjoy this, others don't). My class even brought up how we'd appreciate more class discussion, he acted as though he appreciated the feedback but then never actually included it into class.

This guy doesn't even grade the home work seriously. It's based on how much he likes you and what opinions matter to him. We didn't learn any logic. Just history and philosophy. Larry is not a Computer Science professor, so please don't take any thing he says about your abililty in CompSci too seriously. He is more of a philosophy teacher,if even.

Larry delights in bathing his subject matter with nonessential history rather than dissecting it and making it engaging. If you aren't a keen historian or philosopher, classes with him will be brutally tedious and you will rue the day you ever chose him as a teacher. He enjoys talking about what he likes instead of what his students need to hear.

Knowing other students who have taken formal logic with Erik Steinmetz, as it currently sits at week 9, we are approximately 7 weeks behind. 7 Weeks. Larry is a nice guy and all, but spends an inordinate amount of time talking about history and not about what we need for the course. It is incredibly frustrating to experience.

Larry is an amazing professor, he always encourages his students to do well. Grades consisted of quizzes and papers, integrate class material into your papers and you'll do well on them. I recommend his classes and would take his class again.

Not gonna lie. Larry was tough one. He is a great guy and very lovable teacher. He likes to assign papers, to see how well you truly understand the material. He gives equal weight to paper and test, so its easier to exceed. He also has a way of encouraging you when your about to give up, and honestly, those positive message kept me "swimming".

Larry Crockett is a nice guy deep down, but making it through his class was difficult. In the end, if you work hard, you'll get a good grade. But you will spend many nights wishing you never had to take his class. Unfortunately, it's required for the honors program.

GIGO (Gargbage in Garbage Out) -- If you put effort into actually succeeding in this class, you will easily get a 4.0, and even learn something. However, if you place no effort into the class, expect to do poorly. I think Larry is an excellent professor who encourages students to work hard.

Worst professor ever. He tends to discriminate a lot if you are the only minority in the class and tends to pick on you a lot. Never would I take a class with him again. Oh and he worships motorcycles.. literally

Brilliant, passionate, and a little hard to grasp at times. I like my professors to challenge my thinking and Larry definitely does that EVERY day in class. Plus, he's a wonderful guy!

Very intelligent, engaged prof, but more than a little pretentious. You will never forget that he went to Princeton- he LOVES reminding people. Extremely elitist, especially when it comes to Honors students. "Honors students are not necessarily more intelligent, they are just more ENGAGED." Really, Larry? No, they're not.

Professor Crockett is one of the most personable professors I've had at Augsburg. Though the material is challenging and he does have high expectations, he is also extremely helpful and it is apparent that he truly cares about his students. He also grades on personal imporvement, not how you did as compared to the class overall. Highly recommended.
