Professor Deboer is absolutely an amazing professor. He is soooo enthusiastic when he give us lectures. God knows I hated Econ for so many years, but he made the course much more interesting that I go to every lecture. The course is relatively easy, I got a B+ by the end of the semester and I didnt study at all.

Larry definitely knows what he is talking about and tries his absolute best to relay the information the class. I had many friends who have found this "easy general education" class to be much more difficult. On the other hand, I did not find it too challenging since I read the textbook. I did not attend many lectures. SI help is offered.

Prof DeBoer is a GREAT lecturer who is clearly passionate about what he teaches. I only went to office hours once, but left feeling confident. I read the textbook cover to cover before doing the guided study and attended all of his lectures. The practice exams posted online are insanely helpful with studying, so do those and look at the answers

Prof. Deboer is a decent professor; however, AGEC217 as a course is very difficult. Deboer structures the course in four modules each with two group assignments that are completed in class. If one person in your (randomly assigned) group does not complete their work prior to class, then the entire group is at a disadvantage.

Dr. DeBoer is a FANTASTIC professor! I was so nervous to take economics because I'm not interested in it and I find it hard to understand. I ended up getting an A in the course with so much help from him. He genuinely cares about his students and is so passionate. His lectures have animations and are engaging! Dry subject but great professor

HARDEST CLASS EVER. Why does Purdue even require for pharmacy students to take the agricultural econ? His tests are not even straightforward either. He is expecting you to be some sort of econ trend analyst or some sort.

Professor DeBoer makes a rather boring class pretty fun. His lectures can drag out, but overall are not bad. There is a group project every module, but also an extra credit opportunity every module.

Dr. Deboer is a very energetic and friendly professor, but he goes through the material pretty quickly. This was my first ever Economics course and it has been the hardest course I've ever taken. His exams are very difficult. I would recommend taking AGEC 203 or 204 if you're not an AGEC major.

The best teacher I learned last semester. He is very generic, friendly and helpful every time you have questions. Very in detail of explaining the materials. Book would be the best guide since it helps to understand concepts well. I took this class online. Tests and questions are tricky and challenging so you need to work hard. Many deadlines.

Probably the most enthusiastic professor you will have. He tends to tell a lot of stories instead of explaining the material, so the book really helps. There are group days, even though the class is huge. If you don't understand Econ, you'll have to teach yourself. The class says Ag Econ, but we never talked about Ag. It's just macroeconomics.

Prof. DeBoer is great but the class itself is tough. If you do all the online homework and gradient essays you can get a decent grade. Although lecture topics are boring Prof. DeBoer is very enthusiastic about his teaching and is clear about what you need to know. I personally had a hard time just because the material is tough.

One of the most energetic professors at Purdue. Class is all lecture except a group quiz occasionally. Does move fast in lectures. Attendance is mandatory as he does 3 or 4 hotseats a class. If you go to class and read the textbook it isn't a bad class at all.

Really funny and energetic guy. Class is very lecture heavy. His lectures can be hard to follow but if you keep up with your textbook reading and have a good grasp on all the terms he is a great professor. A lot of economics is just common sense and can be boring at times, but he keeps class light and fun to counter the large info. load.

Prof. DeBoer makes a drab subject fun! I was in the online and did lectures through BoilerCast. The book is easy to follow. Many extra credit opportunities. The online class had one midterm and final. The in-person class had a test every chapter I believe. Take the online class as you have weeks before stuff is due. Just make sure you do it!

I didn't go to lecture, didn't look at the online powerpoints, and still got an A. As long as you get a hold of past exams to study (especially for the final) and do the online quizzes and assignments, you'll do fine.

Personally, Not a fan. I got lost during lectures with all the comics, and funny stuff that I didnt keep up with the actual lectures. Started skipping class, still doing asignments, and looking at powerpoints on my own and managed a B+. He was extremely helpful, i just couldnt follow him.
