He is very smart but very old. His heart is in the right place, but he rambles and mumbles through his lectures making it very hard to follow. He also has a very difficult time answering questions in a different way to clarify any confusion. Sweet guy, but not the best professor.

Dr. Ferren is a great guy, but I had such a hard time paying attention in lecture. I found myself spending time on my laptop instead. His lectures are very dry, but he is always more than willing to help you with whatever questions you have. Even though his lectures were boring, he has a great sense of humor!

I had the priviledge of having Dr. Ferren as my professor for most of my Chemistry classes. He will forever be my favorite professor. Not only was he kind, but he has a sincere interest in his students. He will spend countless hours going over any question that a student has. (BUT that student has to ASK). This man is brilliant. A wonderful prof.

Dr. Ferren is a very sweet and approachable man. He tries his best to help you understand the material,and he is more than willing to work with you. The problem is that the course is extremely fast paced, and he is not the best at lecturing--his sense of humor is the only thing that kept me awake.

Dr. Ferren is awesome. If you pay attention in class he goes over EVERY single thing you need to know for the test and does countless examples of the problems. Has a very dry sense of humor that pops up in the oddest places. Will work individually with students for as long as they need.
