Great course and nice teacher. Half the grade was based on current issues/events from the internet and the other half from the material which prof summarized online. Each unit explained so we did not have to read book. No papers or exams. Previous poster is typical COD loser. That is why so many of us UI students take credits at COD. EZ A!

So I took this Macro2201 course online and it was the worst decision of my life. Basically it says here's the textbook, here's busy work. Go read it and complete it. I did not learn a single thing and it only made me hate econ. If you have prior knowledge of the subject you wont struggle as much but you will still hate the course. Turn back now.

I had taken Dr. Larry at another univ for micro. When I saw he was teaching online macro, I jumped at it. He is a very knowledgeable economist with lots of real world experiences. I liked the web sites a/ current macro info for my profess career as a finan anal...only busy work if you have no future beyond a JC and min hourly wage. He's the best!

If you enjoy busy work, then Frateschi is for you. The workload (15-20 hours per week) is ridiculous for a 3 credit hour course. By his standards, a full-time student should work 60-80 hours per week. It's nice not having exams, however the tradeoff is steep. I would heed the advice of many others and select a different teacher.

Got an A and took the 12 wk version started after Labor Day. Covered whole book. 7 units. NO TESTS. I was late one wk due to illness and he was helpful and understanding. He outlines stuff for each unit and summarizes it. Business majors need ALL this stuff. Loved the articles and current issues stuff I never would see. If 4 yr transfer, take him.

This class is a BOATLOAD of work to the point where its unreasonable for an 8 or even 12 wk class. I suggest the 16 wk. I emailed Dr.F to ask for more time, he said "No exceptions. I'll never undrstd why you students take the 12wk class its too condensed" Well, how on EARTH would I know THAT?? Now YOU know, so make sure you can budget ur time.

Took this online, pretty easy. 7 units, each with 2 assignments. Very easy to do. No tests or final, but have quizzes online, but you can check answers before you submit so easy 100%. Book use is high so buy before class starts. Get study guide too as assignments use it. A is 88%+ so unless you don't do your work, you'll get an A.

I took this class and it was my first F ever in college, the textbook was useless and then when I would ask questions he would be really rude to me, after I failed a few assignments he sent out a announcement basically summarizing that many students were doing great and so on and I felt like that was a personal jab at me. I do not recommend.

Great online course with good prof. Knows his stuff. Had him during the summer and only had 10 weeks PLUS I lost elect/internet for a week with storms. Very understanding guy. 7 units of material. Read his online lectures and you can ace his homework. Really interesting internet activities. Short open book quizzes using CONNECT no sweat. Take him!

I took Macro online & got a B, but it was pure HELL. I was literally overwhelmed by endless hours of homework. Some of the i-net activities are cool but the rest is searching thru the text defining 60 terms in depth, solving questions etc. I literally woke up some nights with nightmares about GDP lol & if your hmwk is 1 min late you get a fat ZERO

By far the worst teacher I have ever had. I am a 4.0 student and this was ridiculous. It was an online class that required way too much work. The quizzes were tough and you are only given 9 minutes to complete them. The only perk to this class is no tests, but it seriously not worth it to take it with him. He is rude when you email him questions.

Online course: Time management is the biggest focus due to a heavy amount of homework. One assignment was over 130 questions total, so it's best to break it up in daily sections. He gives you 16 days per assignment, so not that hard. If you wait to last minute, you'll be hurting. Figure about 8 hours a week to do everything. Consisted of 7 assignments of problem set and internet activities (45% each of grade). Also 7 online quizzes (10 multiple choice questions) (10% of grade).

Took this as online class. His 'lectures' are written very well, and are a great supliment to the textbook. You can see how much passion he has for the subject. Book problems take at most 4 hours per unit (7units), internet assigments can take longer, but he chooses great articles for you to read. Is an easy A/B if you do the work. NO TESTS :)

Good course! 2 exams and a final each worth 25% of the grade. Weekly homework assigns worth 25%. I go to his office when I need help. I send emails which he answers quickly. Stop whining and asking to turn in work after he goes over the answers.

I am taking his Micro class at DePaul. Not my cup of tea, I must say. Not very helpful when approached outside of class.. very jolly in class though. No sympathy if you're struggling. Take if you already know econ. or like 4+ hours of HW. The amount assigned is INSANE and suicide-inducing. Before, I loved econ. (& still do just not taught by him.)
