He is such a genuine, great teacher. Easygoing and has a passion for his subject, he will tell you everything you need to know before the few tests he has. Keeps the class entertaining and I felt relaxed in a calm, stress-free class setting. Would take him for another class if I could, unfortunately, not many teachers are like this.

I took this class as a minimester which made it difficult but professor Harms was very understanding that being minimester it was going to be rough on us all. Do the study guides and you will pass the class just fine. I also got sick at the end and he was very understanding and willing to work with me.

Awesome teacher, great class. You do have to play a few things on the piano though (only worth 8 pts on a 100 pt test) I didn't play the piano and still passed with an A. Would reccomend.

I loved Larry's class! He was funny, informative, and easy. The only major assignments are attending two jazz concerts and doing a write up on what you thought. The tests are pretty easy as long as you take notes during lecture. He occasionally will include small bits of information that he mentioned in lecture briefly, so listening is essential.

Mr. Harms was fun, hilarious, easy to work with, but also very professional. Jazz Band was a blast with him. I felt bad because at the time I was immature and left them hanging the next semester, but I would go back in a heartbeat.

He is very passionate about jazz. He knows all sorts of things about each person and I can tell he takes pride in teaching others about Jazz. He goes over tests in this class basically the day before and makes it pretty easy, mostly multiple choice. You can tell by his actions that he really does love jazz! :)

He's such a sweetheart. He's super nice ! He plays in jazz bands himself so he is very knowledgeable. I didnt care for this subject too much, and I still don't but it's interesting to listen to him. He has a sense of humor. His tests are alright, first one scared me but now i am getting the idea of what to study for, so it's getting easier.

Great guy who is passionate about jazz. Hardly any homework which means you have plenty of time to study for tests. You have to attend 2 jazz performances for your grade but it turned out to be fun!

Just pay attention in class and you'll do fine. Larry is an easy going, easy to get along with person. You gotta go to two jazz performances and write reviews, but he helps you out a ton with these with performances. And he grades the review easily. He just wants you to experience what you're learning. Good class. Easy Class. tests are way easy.

GREAT teacher. I knew very little about music but I loved his class. Lectures are very interesting because knows so much about the material. You will want to take notes and study for tests. Use the hand out as study guide. We had to do two easy concern reports. Larry is one the best at ICC. Highly Recommend this class.

I loved this class and the way he taught it! He knows his stuff and is a very talented musician as well. The class is really laid back and so is his teaching style. He makes things pretty easy but is helpful is you need assistance. I HIGHLY recommend taking one of his classes!
