she is a wonderful teacher who has your best interest at heart. she will allow extra time on assignments but there are a lot so stay focused and organized. also, forget a review the test BUT everything comes directly out of the textbook and when she reviews the chapter with you she says "you will see this again" and you do. overall she is a great

Comment:

I took her for Intro to Ed and Teaching with Diverse Populations. She is nice and will help you out if you need it. There are a lot of writing assignments and stuff but as long as you do them and get ok grades on the tests you'll be fine. Most of the tests in Diverse Populations were almost the exact questions in the chapter reviews in the book.

I took Div. Pop. this past fall and also took her Intro to Ed a couple semesters before that. She's a pretty good prof and is really nice. There is a lot of homework and stuff you have to do but keep up with it and you'll do fine. Also study test reviews after each chapter the test is practically a copy of the review.

She is a nice lady, but the work is a lot. She gives a lot of good information and I enjoyed her class. I just thought a lot of the work was busy work. The chpt test are hard, but they don't count for a lot so that is good.

A very nice lady. Very knowledgable in her field. Tests are straight from the chapter reviews plus a small essay. She's not a morning person so you can run a little late which I loved. I would take her again.

She was not very fair when it came to grading. Because it is all about her opinion. Also she only remembered some peoples names. She was still asking my name on the last day. Very unprofessional for teaching a diverse populations class. Be perpared to be there every day. She will mark you absent even when you are there, keep on top of her.

Ms. Hawkins is a wonderful teacher. She shows passion for what she teaches. I like her and would take her class again. Test were easy in Diversity but watch out for her tests in Intro, they were hard but right out of the book. Great teacher, wonderful person.

canceled class a lot when I had her. she teaches us future teachers not to justteach from the overhead but that is exactly what she does. Too much in class discussions about politics, not enough about text material. Her tests covered things that were not covered in class. Nice lady, poor teaching.

Tests are from the ch reviews on the books - Not the most fair thing in the world how she MAKES YOU SPLIT YOUR 15 HR OBSERVATION into 3 SESSIONS - 1 AT EACH LEVEL (5 H.S.hrs, 5 Middle, 5 Elementary)-if you already plan on doing a specific area. But she is VERY helpful whenever you need something.

Overall a decent professor. Her test questions are worded so that it is difficult to understand. She is NEVER on time and is easily confused. The class itself is boring,especially when the students are teaching but the outside assignments are enjoyable.

Always late. Test are very long but she usually tries to make sure you understand the information. I feel that she could have had better control of her class and not let overly talkative students take up all of the class time with many stupid questions.

"Diverse Populations" revealed why schools do not produce literacy. "Celebrating uniqueness" of students replaces TEACHING. Assignments of 1 page papers overwhelmed her students- Semester course could be covered in 2-3 hours. Pathetic
