Comment:

Staunton's class was very interesting and I enjoyed it quite a bit. His lectures were very clear, which I was thankful for because he was never very willing to answer my questions outside of class. He's a little condescending, but he is very intelligent and I have great respect for him and his work in physics. I would recommend his class.

Not helpful! awful class. I go to lecture ll the time, read the book and still can't do the "suggested" practice problems. We are not shown examples and the textbook doesnt address problems or exercises. Overall frustrating and an awful class.

Avoid this man like the plague, he is a lousy lecturer and even worse to work with outside of the classroom. KEEP AWAY!! there are no redeeming qualities about him or his class, he is arrogant, rude and heartless. Out of every professor I've worked with he is by far the worst! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!

All I have to say is that if you do not have a strong background in physics, do not take this class! Even though it is an intro level course he has you doing partial derivatives. Not a good teacher. Sadly if you are a physics major this is a required course.

The absolute worst teacher I have ever had! I cannot even call him a professor because my physics teacher in high school was better. He is useless! NEVER EVER take this class through him, he enjoys being difficult. His tests are impossible and he even does the problems wrong. He teaches from the book, but already has the answers. STAY AWAY!

If at all possible, avoid taking class with this man. I received a high A in lab, a C on the 1st test, B on the 2nd, and I must have either bombed the final or he just hates me, because I got a C overall. I worked so hard! I asked for help half way through the semester, and he referred me to a senior who hadn't taken physics since high school.

He's a generally nice guy and is willing to help if you go to his office hours. However, his tests can be difficult, and he is somewhat of a tough grader. Our 1st test class average was an F. There are only 150 points in the entire class so if you mess up one test you are screwed. I would recommend taking this class from Nelson if at all possible.

He's a fairly difficult professor, but the amount he teaches you is well worth the long hours contemplating what it is he is saying. He demonstrates a mastery of his field, and can answer almost any question you throw at him.
