He's a nice guy and he makes class fun, but he assigns A LOT of work. Our class had 1 written exam, 2 presentations, 3 papers (one of which is a 7-page research paper), and reading/homework for every single class. I have never had to do that much work for any of my French classes before. Also, attendance counts towards your grade.

He's okay. Willing to help if you're struggling and you go to his office hours. When you're speaking French in class he corrects you mid-sentence which is embarrassing and doesn't encourage you to speak in class discussions, which is a big part of your grade. His grading is unclear and inconsistent. Nice guy but a frustrating professor.

This is my favorite professor here at URI. He always comes up with fun activities that stimulate class discussion. I can honestly say that I feel comfortable speaking french anywhere to anyone because of taking his class. Definitely sign up for it!

Great teacher. I took Cont France online, and his assignments were straight-forward and interesting. One text was pretty boring, the other text was funny and the online readings were never boring. He clearly knows the information and wants people to do well; no trick questions, and nothing is more difficult than need be. Gives useful feedback.

Took an online class with him, to be fair never taken F2F with him. He never responds to e-mails or questions about assignments. Then, penalizes with a poor grade if you don't have a full understanding. Exams are filled with trivial facts that are much harder to remember than overall principles. If you care about your GPA, stay away!

AWESOME PROF! Amazing personality and great teacher. Expect to speak a lot in this class but it's not hard at all. I would definitely recommend this class and professor if you love learning french. He is extremely genuine/nice.
