Arpan was average for me. The readings really overshadowed her lectures, but she gave a quiz almost every class, so they were necessary. Stick to reading ALL of what's assigned and merging that w class notes to study for exams (3 of them). And plan ahead of time for the group project so you can get it done wo stressing during finals.

Comment:

Dr. Arpan was one of the best communication professors' I've had so far. The class was really interesting. You do have to read a lot because there's a quiz approx. every other class. The readings are not hard but sometimes tedious. You have to pay attention otherwise you won't pass. Readings + Lectures are the materials that go into the exams.

Arpan is great! She's nice and funny. Class is interesting and she always asks for our opinions. The tests are hard but fair. There is a final project but it's a group project so it's not too bad. She does give a couple extra credit opportunities. As long as you read and come to class you will do good. I definitely recommend taking Arpan's classes.

Comment:

Arpan is one of the best in the department. Her lectures are interesting and easy to understand. If you go to class, take notes, and do the readings (ie. what you are supposed to be doing anyway) you'll do fine. The group project isn't bad, either, as long as everyone in your group pulls their weight.

Very nice teacher. She tells you the test are harder than they really are. Just read. Final project is tedious but if you do well, you will do well in the class.She is fun and upbeat and likes to know her studnets! <3 her!!

Great class. You learn alot. You must read and take notes. Test are moderately difficult but if you read, you will do fine. I outlined each chapter before the test and made an A. She is really nice, cares alot about the class and is very knowledgeable. I highly recommend the class. Group project not to bad, just made sure u get a good group=)

I admittedly only took this class because it was required and had zero interest in research methods. Arpan managed to take a miserable subject and make it fun. She is organized and very energetic, and while challenging, is always available to help. If you do the work and can think for yourself, you will do well. Highly recommended.

nice lady, but horrible teacher. her tests were horribly worded with intention to trick you, her notes given in class were not related to what was on the tests and the group project she requires is tedious and childlike. would NOT recommend taking any classes with her.

EXTREMELY BORING! She is a nice person but that is all. She words her tests poorly, does not teach very well, gives a very tedious group project that sucks! Don't take this class.

She's nice, yes, but not a very good teacher all-together. The class is about common sense information but is still difficult only because her tests are worded poorly. She seems like she knows what she is talking about but many times contradicted herself. She takes attendance but the notes were not very helpful when studying.
