She is great! Her class can make you sleepy at some times since it is a dark room and is powerpoint heavy, but she is hilarious and a great character. She always has a smile on her face and is very knowledgeable about what she teaches. Just make sure that for tests that memorization is key!

Wonderful person! Her class can get boring on occasion, I have witness other students falling asleep; however, she is not a bad teacher. She is quite exciting to those who are into the material. All the tests are take home, which can be both a blessing and a curse. Don't do them at the last minute! They take longer to complete than you think!

Comment:

Dufresne is one of the best professors Ive had, because she is so enthusiastic about her job. She's seen much of the art that is reviewed in the class, & knows what shes talking about. She is very optimistical and encouraging to whatever interest her students personally. Im no art major, but I enjoyed the class anyways. Mostly because of her style.

Ms. Dufresne is a very sweet lady and is very interested in what she teaches. Her tests are a little hard, but all you have to do is pay attention and go over your notes; she's understanding and sympathetic towards student life and gives practically no outside work. It's an easygoing class and I wouldn't mind having her as a teacher again. :)

Ms. Dufresne is pretty legit! Her tests may not be the easiest in the book, but to do well is an easy feat. It merely requires some attention, which isn't too difficult considering her exciting style of teaching! So long as you don't live the life of a sleep-deprived zombie, such as those in the VCOM program, paying attention is actually enjoyable!

I took this class online over the summer. This was apparently her first time doing it online. She was fantastic! Helpful, knowledgeable, kind, funny, interesting! She made great powerpoints accompanied by audio. The exams were long, but everything you needed was in the lectures. She was also lenient on deadlines. Overall, great teacher and class!

Dr.Drufresne is quite boring. Nice lady and all but really just boring. She sends a sign in sheet around daily. Her projects are "special ed" however her tests require lots of studying. She gives you a guide and what you need to know and if you know it then it should not be a problem. I would reccomend taking McGinnis though...

I loved this class! Dr.Dufresne is so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the material she teaches, and always gives extra tidbits of great info about the artist or work that's not in the book. She has a great sense of humor which makes the class more fun. Her study guides take a lot of work, but the exam is paired down. Best class this term!

I'm so glad I took Dr. Dufresne. She is absolutely hilarious & has a spunky style. Plus, she's so knowledgable, in addition to learning about art & history, I learned religion & philosophy from her class. When I talk to her I feel like I'm talking to a person & not a professor. The tests require time but doable and the paper was cake. Take her!

Mrs. Dufresne is an awesome teacher. Just make sure you come to every class (u get 5 points at the end for just attending class everyday) and u will be fine. O yeah its no point of taking notes because her test are based off of the book. So just make sure u get the book for the class and u should atleast pull a B even

The best class I have ever taken at Winthrop. She gives you all the answers beforehand for the tests. You don't even need to take notes during the lecture because her study guide tells you everything you need to know. Just sit in class and don't talk. She's a bit strict but a very easy grader. The best art professor at Winthrop!

I've had her for 175, Ren, Methods, Art of the Book, and she is my advisor. Wonderful woman. Really amazing. Has passion for the subject and in smaller classes is really humorous/personable. If anyone has the choice to take any other prof of art hist, DON'T. TAKE HER! :)

Dr. Dufresne is very nice and funny. Im a biology major and ended up w/ an A in both 175&176. Her lectures have a lot of detailed info, but she doesnt expect much info on the test IDs, so dont try to write every single word down. I wouldn't recommend reading the book from cover to cover because that is way too much info for this level of class.

This lady is kind of weird (you can tell she is an art person) but she is very nice & definatly knows a lot about art! Gives great study guides, if you go through it & study each definition you will be fine for the tests. Thats what I did & I got an A in her class. Theres a big paper due @ the end that kind of sucks but its not that bad! EASY CLASS
