She's sweet but an awful teacher. I can't believe she cancelled class 9 times! She rereads the same poem for everything and calls it goo. Nothing she says makes any sense because she talks circles around herself. I would rather drop out than take another class of hers!

Professor George is a decent person, but not an amazing teacher. She gets sidetracked a lot and isn't very clear with directions. She really does know well about the subject matter, but can ramble and make things more confusing and difficult.

Dr. Laura is a nice individual. She takes a LONG time to put in grade and when you ask she says she caught up. Takes attendance every class period. Require two group assignments which are not difficult and have assignments due but they are not worth anything. The book is a requirement to buy.

This was my first class with Dr. George and it really got me into Romantic Lit. There's obviously a good amount of reading because it is a literature class, but I never felt overwhelmed. She was really understanding if you had any problems. The class was always interesting and engaging. It was my favorite class of the semester.

Laura is kind. But, she cancels classes often, shows up late, and doesnt respond to emails in a timely fashion. I scored poorly on the first two papers in her class and she wasn't exactly clear with her expectations. However, I met with her a few times regarding them and went to the writing center, so she raised my grade. So she's reasonable.

Laura was great. She was helpful and inspiring. She had some great advice for being a grad student. She is funny and brings great references into the classroom. Sometimes difficult to get a hold of through email, but you can find her during her office hours.

Bad experience. All semester she was unavailable because of a personal issue. The course was basically on autopilot. Emails went unanswered, I felt like I didn't learn much since feedback was not left on weekly posts. Nothing against Prof George but I wish the class had been reassigned to someone else, it just felt like we were left hanging.

She's pretty great. Had her for a ghost stories class and she's really easygoing and nice. Would recommend. Lots of reading, but its not so bad. You can get by with missing bits of reading. Just study and stuff and do all the reflections.

This is one of the worst professors I have ever had. She did not show up to class quit a few times because of family emergencies.She is very unorganized and is horrible at grading papers. She is not clear about what she wants in your papers.

She's awesome! Very easy-going, funny, but knows her stuff & will get you thinking. Just read & the work is no problem. She had a few issues this semester & missed a lot of class, but stuff happens in life that we can't avoid - I understand. She was really fair & I learned a lot. Take her if you can, she's cool & delightful to be in class with. :)

I have to agree with most of the other ratings... I'm not sure how to rate her. She's a really cool person and her lectures are very interesting, not to mention hilarious, yet... you do NOT get papers back so you don't know what you could do better, etc. It's an easy class if you're confident in you're writing abilities.

I find it difficult to rate her because she was really nice and her lectures were interesting, but her expectations were unrealistic. She took a long time to grade our work, which made the expectations for the next assignment that much more unclear. Based on my experience and stress level with this class, I would not recommend her.

Best teacher I've ever had there. She was a fun teacher, mad poetry interesting and had the best class discussions. Would DEFINITELY suggest taking her, it is a class you'll actually want to attend. Take her take her!

Comment:

Laura George is an amazing professor. She genuinely cares about teaching to her students. She is knowledgeable in her subject area. She is beyond helpful and is quick to respond to emails. I have taken several courses with her and have registered for LIT 316 with her next semester. If you're interested in learning, I would highly recommend her.
