Comment:

Homework is lengthy but a great way to prepare for exams and IS WORTH THE BULK OF POINTS SO DON'T BLOW IT OFF. She will gladly walk you through any problem if you go to her office with at least SOME idea of what to do. Sample exams are nearly identical to what you receive. She will cut you a break if you go to class regularly and make any effort.

She is one of the most helpful professors in the ME department. Her class is clear and the hw are easy to work out. You will definitely receive an A if you follow her class.

Comment:

Very dry, very boring lectures. Homework is a full time job in this course as you would expect for a graduate level (math) conduction heat transfer course. Dr. Pauley seems to be very defensive of solution techniques and teaching style. If you make mistakes- expect to hear from her "your wrong" in a very critical demeanor multiple times.

Easily the best professor I have had in engineering. Her expectations are clear and she is extremely helpful if you talk to her at office hours. Highly Recommended!

Dr. Pauley is fantastic - easily one of the best professors in the entire engineering department. I had her for ME 300 as well and for both classes her lectures were clearinteresting, hw was fair, and she gives sample exams almost identical to the real exam. She's always willing to explain something you don't understand and does it very well.

She didn't really teach for the first 4 weeks, all she did was critique control volume boundaries for that time when we barely knew anything about them on the first homework. Didn't learn much from her either. Also, if she screws up grading on an exam, she'll tell you she can regrade, but that your grade could go down. Avoid for Thermo.

The BEST professor I had at Penn State! Best professor in the Engineering department. Classes are real easy if you try. Gives past exams that are identical to the exams. If you fail her class, you're simply a loser and don't belong in an engineering major because it gets no easier than Pauley.

I had two classes with her: Nuc E 309 and ME 410! She's the best engineering professor you will find at Penn State. Her grading is fair. She gives you practice exams and solutions to the test and the exams are just like them! You CANNOT fail her class if you put at least 50% effort.

All lecture notes are put online. If you only went to class on days with exams, you would still be golden. Really nice lady, and really easy material. Most of it is a review anyways. She would have no problem giving everyone in the class As. Super fair and wants everyone to succeed.

Extremely easy, just do they study guides she provides for every test. Very fair with grading and difficulty. Textbook is completely unnecessary. Only downside, her voice isn't well suited for lectures- but if its too much to handle the notes are always clear and organized online!

Greatest Teacher Ever!!! It is so easy to get a good grade in this class. She walks you thorough every type of problem she will ask you. She also gives you the exact exam format with all the exam questions she has ever asked. She makes this class very easy for you if you just pay attention. And don't get the book its no help.

Not fit for big class lectures at all. Doesn't know how to communicate quality information. Doesn't engage the class to think, she solves all the practice problems on her own, which doesn't help you in any way. Homeworks are very hard and completely different that what you learn in class.

She is a nice lady, and teaches this same class every year. The material is somewhat repetitive, and the homework's are long. The tests were alright. When she says she will bump your grade up if you attend class, go to extra help sessions, and participate during class, just know that she is lying.
