I cannot express my love for Laura in 350 characters. She understands the needs of her students better than any prof I have ever met, she's engaging and patient and just the right amount of professional. She's lenient with extensions because she "cares more about her students' writing than deadlines." She is everything a student could ask for.

Laura Penny is one of the most intelligent and hilarious people I have ever met. If you ever have the chance of taking one of her classes pls do it. She does an amazing job explaining difficult texts and gives lectures in a way that is engaging and inviting!!! cannot say enough about how cool this woman is. 100000/10

Laura is incredibly engaging, outstandingly assiduous, and splendidly hilarious. Her classes are reading-heavy, but you *will* know your material by the time the year ends-- I say this assuming you at least listen in class. NB: She grades mercilessly re: grammar, but you will learn from it. Laura is a fox.

Laura Penny is an extremely intelligent woman. People often take her intelligence with a grain of salt, but that shouldn't be the case. It's rare to find a university professor who has got her brains and approachability. It's understandable to be put off by her enthusiasm, but I can promise she is genuine and not looking to offend anyone. Love her.

I really disliked this class. I have a minor in women's studies and this was the class I was looking forward to most in the year. I hated this class. She reads notes of stacks of 15-20 pages of paper with looking at the audience once or twice. She trys very hard to appear different and cool but I didn't catch it. Pop culture references are annoying

It's so refreshing when a professor actually cares about their students and the content they teach. Laura is full of passion and wisdom and luckily, is always willing to share it with students. She makes a point to remember people's names and loves talking to students outside of class. This woman knows how to teach.

My favorite prof yet. Completely hilarious with her sarcasm/crazy analogies. Who else would say that when Descartes was saying we have an infinite will and finite understanding (so it runs ahead our will runs ahead of us) that it's like when Icecube says "yah gotta check yourself before yah wreck yourself". A++++++++++ I loved her lol.

Amazing woman, she makes class fun. A lot of the subject matter in FYP is hard to grasp at first, but she puts it in easier, more contemporary terms and that's what being a great teacher is, making the material accessible. She's fantastic and really cares about her students. Excellent.

Ugh, spare me. Barely knows what she's talking about and is much more interested in playing the 'rebel' teacher who smokes with the students and swears a lot than she is in teaching. She's great to hang out with but as a professor, she could do a lot better if she would work a little harder.

Extremely entertaining and clear lecturer. Brilliant woman. Can explain complex ideas in a way which is accessible without being dumbed down. She's great, but for God's sake stop following her around, and stop trying to imitate her. I like her more than I like her disciples.
